THURSDAY, Dec. 1, 2016 (HealthDay News) Vegetarian diets are healthy for people of all ages, as well as the environment, according to a new update of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ (AND) position on vegetarian diets. The vegetarian diet has been found to benefit people as well as the planet.

The findings come from a new update by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ (AND) position on vegetarian diets. Many people shun animal products in an effort to live healthier lives, and a certain group follows these practices because they believe it is better for the planet. In fact, becoming a vegan or vegetarian to save the Earth is a top reason people switch their eating habits. After reading numerous articles about the impact raising livestock has on our environment, it has become clear to me that there isn’t a definitive answer to the question, “Is a vegetarian diet better for the planet”.

Most people, myself included, assume a vegetarian diet has a lesser impact on the environment than a carnivorous diet but some studies show that isn’t the case. Research has shown that cutting meat usually means getting more dietary fiber, folic acid, vitamins C and E, potassium, magnesium and unsaturated fat, and less saturated fat and cholesterol. Studies have shown that eating less meat reduces the risk of heart disease and perhaps even type 2 diabetes and some cancers. The study compared health impacts of the global omnivorous diet with those reported for traditional Mediterranean, pescatarian and vegetarian diets.

Adopting these alternative diets could reduce incidence of type II diabetes by about 25 percent, cancer by about 10 percent and death from heart disease by about 20 percent relative to the omnivore. Compare that to the dairy-friendly vegetarian diet, which could feed 807 million people. Even partially omnivorous diets rank above veganism in terms of sustainability; incorporating about 20 to.

List of related literature:

Because a vegetarian diet contains less saturated fat and cholesterol, and more fiber, vitamins, and phytochemicals than a nonvegetarian diet does, vegetarians live longer than nonvegetarians and have lower rates of coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and cancer (Fraser, 2009).

A French study finds that vegetarians and vegans ate 33 percent and 75 percent more fiber than meat-eaters, respectively, but both groups eat fewer overall calories, total protein, and fats.19 Although many Blue Zones share this plant-based diet, this is not proof that eating plants is healthier than eating meat.

  • It’s not easy to change people. I was dating this guy who is obese

Guy: I’m having thyroid, hypertension, emotional imbalance and stress
Me: Oh sad! I’m sure you are going though a lot. Have you ever considered plant based diet? It truly can help you.
Guy: I love meat and i love to eat out. I’ll appreciate if you stop controlling me.

We broke off. Most certainly he has chosen a way of life that I’m not comfortable with or appreciative of.

  • Plants give me diarrhea. The only reason I found out that plants are poison is by not eating them regularly anymore. When I do eat them I get gas, diarrhea and my hemorrhoids flair up and I break out with acne.

  • I too am “plant based” but I am not “plant only”. As an omnivore I strive for a balanced diet which includes all the macronutrients required for optimum health. I strive not to overdo any one food group. I “let food be my medicine and my medicine be my food”.

  • I’m on day 104 fruit only. The purpose is to get my kidneys to filter out metabolic waste from lymphatic system due to Acidosis stagnation. Inflammation is caused by acids. There are only 2 sides to chemistry. Acids and alkalinity. Medium to low acids burn and they have done so for years on my esophagus and now my prostate. It is in fact from my food and my body’s inability to handle properly all the things I love to eat. Then I discovered a naturepath Dr Robert Morse right here on YouTube. I found an all fruit diet works for me where none others come close. I find a it delicious, loaded with electric energy and high in electrolytes and nutrients without need for salt, sugar or oil. My kidneys are now filtering out sediments and clouds of debris. Before my urine was amber but clear. No filtration was happening and I was stuck in a loop of acid reflux and abdominal pains that led to prostititus pains. I’m on my path. Check out Dr. Robert Morse. He also offers much info for free and there are groups on Facebook doing wonders with fruit and fasting.
    Best wishes

  • I’m trying my best to eat more plant based foods!! I don’t eat/drink dairy and I eat two eggs or less per week. Hopefully, I’ll finally have a completely plant based diet

  • This guy is a big mouth. He is right about the stats but his conclusion is not. He would have said the same things about smoking. Stats are always easy to pick apart. You just have to use common sense. Plant based foods will provide fibre and a range of nutrients meat does not.aAlso meat consumption is excessive and very often contaminated with antibiotics used as growth hormones, faecal contamination of intensive farming and slaughtering. Apart from the damage to the environment and humans affected by eg COVID 19 in abattoirs the chronic effect on health does not appear to worry this chap. You wonder whose paying him to act like this.

  • He is one of the doctors that have our full respect. Why is TEDx posting such unqualified statements? There is no scientific doubt that a plant based diet is the most healthy diet on our planet.

  • It’s primarily the food, but NOT just the food. There are many things that affect human health that are overlooked especially sleep, impact of stress, lack of movement/exercise. Food is the most important but not the only factor.

  • 80% of farm land is unsuitable for growing crops. Agriculture is only 9% of greenhouse gasses and only a portion of that comes from animals. Humans don’t have fore-gut or hind gut fermentation so we can’t extract nutrient the way herbivores do. There are over 50 nutrients that can’t be derived from plant products.

  • NO THANK YOU! I will continue to listen to nutritionists, sports diet coaches and other health professionals not childlike vegans online.

  • Husband and I are discussing opening an herb store in our community and researching and learning what would make it successful to help our community thrive… I’m kind of thinking now that we should open a vegetable and fruit store instead, actually in conjunction with herbs. Hmmm… I am Navajo, my grandparents lived to be over 100… seeing videos like this help me to believe I can get there too. Thank you Dr. Klaper.

  • The only thing that veganism did not help was my psoriasis. It improved everything else, my weight, my acne, my hormones, my energy levels, my IBS, my stamina sounds too good to be true? Try it for yourself!

  • My general doctor told me that my plant based diet was going to kill me. I survived the cancer, but couldn’t tell him because he died of heart disease.

  • For your kind attention! To grow the pigs you need to feed them with food and water. Pigs don’t grow magically. Now compare the food consumed by the pig to grow 1kg of flesh and compare it’s calories with veggies.

  • I did this for 10 years and I GAINED a spare tire, developed cognitive issues as well as extreme fatigue. Oh, and don’t forget the irritable bowel syndrome, which I still have to this day. Veganism is a lie.

  • Aluacbar is a great day to come to my new job today I will be a few days away but it is not the best way for me I can do a little more work and more to be able for a long day or so much better and the best thing is that the people that have the time and they are all in a great place for the weekend to go get the girls and then come home to get it and get the job and it

  • cows r work to death in some countries in the rice field n carries heavy stuffs in their back.give milk to every animals needs n take care of human babies in whole planet earth.they r cow not a beef not a foods.turn around from wrong educations n our turn to take care of these humble gentle animals.they want real firm identification

  • Hi there, have you considered Custokebon Secrets yet? Simply just do a google search search. On there you will discover an awesome guidelines about how exactly you can lost a ton of fat. Why not give it a chance? maybe it will work for you too.

  • I have been a vegetarian since 1994 (since I was 19). Now I am 44 but everyone says I look 30. I do not drink milk nor eat egg yolks. I do eat greek yogurt and egg whites. I do not have obesity, cholesterol, diabetes nor heart problems. My brother is a year younger than I am and is overweight (5’9″ and over 230lb) and has wrinkles. I do not have a single wrinkle.

  • I have a 10 yr old with reflux and vomits everytime. Went Vegan and vomiting disappeared. She was also on constant antibiotics for recurrent chest infections, is always wheezy. And this too disappeared on whole food plant based diet.

  • Since beef ban in India.. Growth in population of cows and death of cows due to malnutrition increased… Death due to slaughter is just or slow death due to malnutrition is just.. You decide!

  • I changed my diet and life style. Sure I lost some weight but I still lack energy and really don’t feel great. I eat tons of fruits and veggies and still don’t feel great. Why?

  • Is it a little dangerous of all of us turned into herbivores??? Would the balance of the ecosystem be affected? I mean if we are all herbivores the producers will decrease their population

  • 0:14 Prediction: Even if the new study has good research (high sample size, RCT, weren’t looking at a gazillion things or properly accounted for it if they were, etc.), I bet the effect size is small enough that you do not make that recommendation. And I also would be surprised if the research hit all the points I mentioned.

  • Diet also greatly affects Dementia. Cut out the beef. Cut out processed flour and processed sugar. Eat like this Doc says and you will overcome even Dementia. I did.

  • I’m 20 and already diagnosed with high blood pressure and my doctor wants to put me on pills. I got tests done and everything came back normal she said it’s my “genetics” but I think it’s my shitty diet for sure Im gonna try to stop eating meat for a little bit and see if that helps ‍♀️

  • The most powerful way to heal man’s body and the Earth, its call Gods Love. Love Life, love every living thing, love yourself. Love God Almighty!

  • It would be a waste for you not to shed fat while other typical people are capable to shed extra pounds very easily using Custokebon Secrets (just google search it).

  • The amount of dislikes are from the meat eaters who are uncontrollably addicted to eating animals, and don’t want this to be true, although it is… And there is proof #vegan #govegan #stepbystep #gooodluck #vegancommunity #wakeup

  • I have been trying to switch to a more vegetarian lifestyle and loved these tips. Going to try to cut down to once a week at least.

  • if you eat meat, you hate animals
    that means
if you eat veggies/fruits you hate plants
so just eat air, they arent alive anyways

  • This is a load of bullcrap because the animals ate plants or ate other animals that ate plants so it multiplies. Also plants produce air while animals produce pollution.

  • Want To Reach Optimal Health, Lose Weight And Increase Your Energy? Kick-start your plant-based eating journey today!

    vist this link => https://payhip.com/b/7ls3

  • Its not meat that is the problem its the Processed food that is the problem my tribe eats all the time. And we aren’t over weight etc. We don’t have high diabetes or other things its process food that is the issues.

  • Live a long life even tho I’m gonna be tortured of not eating meat and candy then everyone will bully me or live normal age and have a happy life but disease hmmm so many things happen to me it has somehow not done anything to me

  • Its funny because veganism is actually terrible for the environment and leads to overfarming because theres not a healthy rotation between livestock, grazing and cultivated land for farming, and also hurts human diets because you are SUPPOSED TO EAT BOTH

  • I thought info graphics would have done better research. B12 deficiencies are present in omnivores as well! Animals these days are mostly supplemented with B12. We would have got it naturally from unprocessed water and dirt on our plants

  • I’ve been a vegetarian for months, meaning I have stopped eating meat and I’m very much against the slaughter of farm animals… the world becoming vegan isn’t gonna solve global warming altogether, it’s factory farming that have become unsustainable over the years and I’m very much against factory farming as well… farmers all over the globe r gonna fight back..

    All farm animals should b:
    1. Pasture fed
    2. Nurtured with care
    3. Have plenty of space to roam about
As for cows and goats, they need to b milked regularly or they get poorly otherwise.. and calves kept in a nursery in case they get stepped on in a field… true they do drink their mum’s milk via machine but that’s to avoid all cows passing on any disease onto the calf so they r kept healthy and well.. they can still touch noses..

Male Calves should b kept alive as well as the females so they can mate with future generations.. I’m very much against veal meat..
Always buy eggs from free-range hens instead of caged hens… caged hens live a life of misery and should’ve been put to a stop years ago..

Vegan extremism is on the rise in me opinion and it’s gonna have a devastating impact on farmers who have families to feed as well as themselves, so COMPROMISE for once, convert to vegetarianism!

  • Many people nowadays are working to find out the best way to drop weight. Then again, having the ability to find a diet plan that can work for you is tough to discover. A crucial thing you want to understand is that a diet is effective for one person might not operate for another. So you have to understand what your getting into before you begin one of those diets. Therefore we’ve opted to offer you a good look in the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet. This may give you enough information to learn whether this really is something which is suitable to your requirements. Read more here https://truehealthreport.com/xtreme-fat-loss-diet-review/

  • That’s because humans aren’t even supposed to eat meat. It is unnatural. Look at the diet of a chimpanzee, our closest relative. They eat fruits, veggies and nuts as their diet because their teeth aren’t able to pierce through the skin of an animal.

The only reason some eat meat today is because we created the technology for fire, knives and the art of husbandry. Before these technologies we were all vegans actually!

  • Very annoyed!
The research is VERY clear that veganism is better for the environment (especially if you ignore research directly funded by meat and dairy industries).
There is absolutely no basis for making out that that is in question.
Even your science correspondant made it abundantly clear that going vegan is good for the environment.
If you can’t report news accurately please do not report the news at all!

  • As a vegetarian, this still does not apply to everyone unfortunately. Each body is unique with different health needs along with so much we don’t know about the body and health still.

  • We are omnivores, the optimal diet requires meat.I feel sorry for animals, but I would not risk my health to go vegan. If it requires supplements, something is not ok.Nature works in certain ways and after hundreds of thousands of years with meat,it is clear why we are omnivores.

  • most vegans don’t stay vegan it’s not growing but I agree on farmers & meat factories treating animals terribly that needs to change

  • I wanted to gO vegan but my inner side kept denying it cause I only eat non veg once a week that too I eat chicken , fish, mutton.. I heard going vegan makes you happier, acne free,..I still can’t decide..

  • Vegans stop watching at 2:18 and conclude that the study is priceless.
Normal people stop at 2:30 and conclude that the study is useless.

  • eAtInG aNimaLs iS WrOng mCdOnAlDs HurTing Animal Is WRonG mCdoNalDs SHaREeeE thIs SonGG AnD ChAngE uR eNtiRe meNu to Be VeGAn From Now oN

  • All due respect, I think you need to do more research on this, it doesn’t convince me at all, is way to shallow, almost all the crops are fed to livestock, so human beings are eating processed protein and calorie through animals, nevertheless the livestock is only offer 25% protein in food consumptuon, never cared if people are omnivorous or vegan, but just don’t confuse them with shallow researches in order to be famous on utube

  • That moment when you realise that only around 7% of soy grown in the Amazon is for human consumption and 80% is fed to livestock with the rest used for oil and that veganism isn’t driving deforestation for soy. Oof

  • I post this massage anyone’s reading this please pray for me I am paralyze now due for the accident of motorcycle past February 19 2019 and now my spinal cord are totally damage, my doctor said I don’t have a chance to walk again, I’m suffering now I lost my job and my support to my family i have 5 children and still studying and I don’t know how to survive..

All are lies made up from them because they are not into this!

  • Wow I can’t believe how little effort whoever made a script for this video put into actual research. Whether you are a vegan or a meat-eater, just skip this one. It’s rubbish.

  • Being vegan is also better for physical and mental health, it helps me fight suicidal thoughts so yes it is the best diet for a human

  • If memory serves, 6 lbs of shit for every 1 lbs of beef. Of course it’s better. Lol and 10x less calories if you ate beef rather than the grains fed to cows. Watch conspiracy. Growing greens and other vegetables is easy and is good for your mental and physical health. We can build solar farms on pasture lands. We can use our own biogas and solar energy. And eco buildings like earth ships use very little energy…

  • I always eat vegan since I was born and have always grown alot of my own food organically. I ferment pickle, dehydrate and can for dormant off seasons. I refused to eat any animals because it was sickening, I dont like killing their beautiful personalities and it was not about health at all. I missed alot of childhood meals being always grounded to my room for refusing the meat on the dish. I am 55 and have never had any health problems. I have grown well over 6 ft 3 tall and 200 pounds. Larger and healthier than my 3 siblings who have eaten as scavengers of the dead like most people are taught to do. I never took artificial vitamins. I have a girlfriend over a decade younger who is also vegan. I eat organic and dont peel potatoes or carrots before eating. I was the fastest distance runner for 25 years, now I have a computer to research truth on and dont run anymore. I am researching the fraud of the covid psyop and how they designed the new ID 2020 system that will be implanted in us using fake virus to implement the new worldwide system. It seems since China and Gates purchased the U.N. office W.HO. this year the communist Chinese have taken over the world. These fake plagues and masked social isolation is the Communist Chinese way they ground their subjects and keep TOTAL control. I have links too but the new Great Chinese Firewall wont allow comments with links to be seen across countries borders among other things.

  • To be fair if your vegetarian for ethical reasons then your kidding your selfs diary and eggs are just as cruel and meat.so go vegan or eat every thing veggie is a bit of a kop out

  • Vegan farming=deforestation lots of water used to grow them especially in hotter countries.
Animals= happily graze with no harm to the land

  • Btw the global temp has increased by about 1 degree Celsius since early 1900’s and America has been reducing its pollution since the 1950’s drastically. I’ll eat meat instead of supplements thank you.

  • Also, not all vegans even eat soy (majority of soy is grown for animal feed FYI.) I have been vegan for years and eat very little soy. Anti-vegans tend to assume that all vegans live off of soy only. It’s not accurate.

  • What stops climate change is devices. Upgrading data base from 4G to 5G the fastest most dangerous network. 5G will not only change climate change, but it can do a lot more damage on the world. We the people need to put a stop into this madness and protect our world.

  • if the world eat meat humanity will die of hunger and if we all eat vegan the animals will have nothing to eat and would waste so much water… so which one wins???

  • It’s hardly sustainable. Animals we breed for food will be slaughtered. They would be pests if we left them be. They can’t survive in the wild. We’d need more space for food production, the human body absolutely has to survive on meat. We evolved that way. If we evolved otherwise. We’d not be the species we are today. We’d be more like gorillas, extra gut included to process carbs. Plus without animals to graze the land. It will desertify. It happened a while back when some guy. (I’m not good with names.) removed elephants from a large patch of land to stop it going barren. It went barren. The elephants were introduced back. (Of course, they had to be fed by humans for a while.) The land became fertile again. Rather quickly too. Also one question for you. Do you have any idea how many pollinators, small animals and the like are killed by combine harvesters for an unsustainable, unhealthy diet?

  • Actually, evolutionary speaking, we have a vegetarian digestive system. True carnivores have a very short digestive track so that they very quickly digest their food. Humans have a very long and convoluted digestive system, so basically by the time the meat that you have eaten reaches your lower GI tract, the meat is rotting in your body! That is why people in the USA have such hign incidences of colon and bowel cancer.

  • Meat and fat makes you feel full, plus is has a lot of more nutrients than lettuce. So you have to eat loads of lettuce to feel full and one or two slices of bacon can keep you sacieted for hours. Keto is science.

  • Boy did BBC become dumb or something? Veganism cant solve everything but all things being equal, it sure beats current agricultural practice. Where do you even get your facts from?

  • People saying “you pissed off both sides at the same time” are part of the problem. People picking a side and then only wanting to hear things and supporting things that support them in their beliefs. Why can’t people just look at things with an unbiased and objective point of view?

  • Video is so amazing going to watch with the family. Too bad they have to put in a disclaimer in the notes. I learned years ago that it’s scientifically proven that milk does not help your bones grow it actually inhibits the absorption of calcium. My son was mostly dairy free for several years, was fully tested, his calcium level was absolutely healthy.

  • never ate lettuce, I do grains and carrots and plus… the animals need the plants that we could eat instead of giving the plants to them so we can eat meat in return.

  • This guy is actually correct—being as grossly overweight as him clearly has no affect on anyones absolute mortality risk. Heart disease and diabetes have always been fake news

  • The video is completely worthwhile! THANK YOU!!! I have watched this and completely changed my thinking about health and traditional medicine! Take control of your health.

  • I’m not trying to hate but you did not include that eating no meat means you will not get vitamin B12. So without vitamin b12 you can develop diseases where your blood cells cant regenerate due to not having enough vitamin B12.

  • Herbivores have additional digestive organs that are capable of processing complex plant matter. By preying upon Herbivores, Meat Eaters avoid the need to possess complicated (and usually Physically Large; and/or redundant) digestive organs.

  • Tax meat, it’ll solve the climate change
The tax percentage should be equal to the percentage of the emissions that particular food makes

  • Been vegan for three years. It’s pretty easy once you get used to it. I was on food stamps for most of my vegan journey, and I plan on carrying my frugal habits into the rest of my life

  • We need more videos like this, this has been posted 2 years ago and still nobody knows how much meat puts out planet into stress and this needs to be mainstream, somehow everyone is refusing to post more regarding meat products we need this to change If you wanna have kids, it’s as simple as it gets

  • I’d recommend looking for better sources. NOAA, NASA, and National Geographic have the most reliable information about climate change. Most of these news sources you are showing I’ve never even heard of.

  • I convinced my family to cut our meat consumption by 50%, when we’re eating veggies, they’re from a local bio farm! And our food is cooked with solar power:)

  • Excellent points you brought up! Those concerned about the horrors of animal food sourcing, probably disregard concerns about how the production of plant foods can also affect the environment. For example, “The only US state that produces almonds commercially is California, and they’re not just sending almonds to domestic markets. More than 80 percent of the world’s almonds come from California, and it’s a multi-billion dollar industry. California also has relentless problems with drought. You’ve heard the horror stories of water shortages and wildfires — now consider that every single almond you eat took 1.1 gallons of water to grow.”

  • Never trust a “YOUTUBE” channel called PLANTIFUL HEALTH” to tell the truth about a SCIENTIFIC STUDY that points out the negatives of being a 100% plant eater.

  • Easy, but few Americans can. Eats more vegetable and much less meat. US is one of the c
top countries that eats the fewest vegetables and eats the most meat. That diet makes me sick. I’m a flexitarian, I don’t like meat because I’m picky about the quality, I only buy meat when I see the best one.

  • I respect what you are saying and hypocrates said let food be thy medicine but I don’t know many people as disciplined about healthy eating and walking and gardening as my mother which she has done for at least half a century eating predominantly vegetable salads grains fruit natural nuts no sugar no alcohol etcetcetc yet NOTHING helps her arthritic pain!!!! She is just over 82 years old.

  • If you can’t stop eating beef, then try to start eating more veggies and basically healthy food. A balanced diet is better for you, plus you will get more health benefits.

  • Vegan’s are one of the most ignorant people on the planet, their food choice kills much more life then meat eaters take one avacardo crop for example the land is cleared of tree’s, that’s the first mass killing of flora and fauna then the farmer ploughs the field which chop’s up 10s of thousands of little animal’s that’s why bird’s follow the plough to eat the dead and dying, then the farmer poison’s the soil to kill the animal’s that survive dying an extremely painful death if vegan’s think their hand’s are clean of death they are misguided and ignorant, they are worse much worse.

  • I’ve had a doctor ask me what I eat. I said plant-based. She went on a 30-minute rant about how I should be doing meat-eating keto. Just for the reference I’m a healthy, active, 27 year old with a normal BMI who runs marathons and lifts weights. Unfortunately most doctors seem to be just as susceptible by fad diets as everyone else.

  • Last time I checked, vegetables don’t shit mountains of dung and excrete methane from their ass.

Whoever made these articles needs to do research.

  • Thank you, Thank you
Thank you for working so hard to educate those who do not want to hear the truth. You are a Blessing to those who listen and Act on your life saving knowledge.

  • Why not go Mediterranean, then vegetarian, then vegan? Greetings from a happy healthy vegan with a passion for bench-pressing (yes, I’m getting enough protein )

  • It would be a waste for you not to lose body fat while other typical people are capable to lose weight easily with Custokebon Secrets (just google search it).

  • The US is set so that low quality processed meat is the cheapest way to live tho, high quality nutritious environmentally friendly foods cost 2-3 times more and that’s just not economically viable for most family’s in the US. This problem needs to be solved so that we can change what we are eating

  • I have Ibs-C, because of certain high fodmap food substitutes (for regular foods) in vegan and vegetarian diets, I can’t go vegan. It is something to keep in mind with the vegan diet, not everyone can get their nutrients from the vegan diet.

    P. S. Majority of my diet is non-animal products since if I eat a lot of them, I will get a flare up

  • You Americans are a sad bunch of peoples. You don´have any option in life. You have to chose between discustingly industrially produced animals to the death of Nature. OR you will have to eat industrially genetically modified non nutrient biomasse. Produced by multinational comanies and scientificly developed to mix wheat, sugar and vegetable oil. to make us addicted and slowly brake down our bodies so their pharmacutical multinational companies can sell as much medicine as possible.

Can´t you see through this. It´s all capitalistic garbage!!! And the whole discussion have never had any ralevance to reality. Now learn this about our dying Nature.

Grazing animals eats natures biomasse! It´s grass and buches, created from photosyntesis. Where the plant take climategases and sun, water and makes an energyrich proteinplant. That people can´t eat. But animals convert it to a complete food with all the nourichment a persin needs in a very small amounts. 200gr of meat and 200gr of saturated animal fat is all your body/colon needs to process to keep our body in optimal nutrient health! And no starch that is imossible to digest.

To be compared with the between 6-7 kg of industrially produced plantfood, from the global industri, that a vegetarian have to consume to perhaps satisfie the nutritional needs. Plus that the heavily strained colon also have to deal with that the carbon fermenting inside our stomach produces a couple of litres of metanegases. No wonder the colon starts to leak, after a decade!!!

Our World is covered with industrial monocultures and the plow releases 1,5 mm of carbonbased soil into the air every year. That should have been tied to the ground. Thats 60% of human emission of climategase. Not the animals!!! They eat climategases and farts and burps it back to the air again. It´s called ‘the carbon cycle’ and animals are an integrated part of that.

All evil and our selfdestruction comes from consuming food from industrial monocultures sold by multinational foodcompanies, on a global scale.

instead you shall search for local food like an old time hunter. You take your telephone and search for local producers of ecological and naturally produced food.

And in order to save the world you fucking grow your vegetables yousrelf. And watch the grazing animals while you do it. Don´t be so fu-ng disneyland urban. Take back the knowledge of Nature and biochemistry. And learn to read the fooddatabase!

I´m a meatproducer and my animals and my family becomes one in the end and we consume climategases. We don´t produce them! You should do so too!

No global pesciticide food only local ecological food!!!

  • I feel like it would be incredibly hard to reduce my meat intake cause I love meat but if it means that I’ll be helping Mother Earth, I’ll gladly do it.

  • Last night I had fish and vegetable curries and believe me this is what most of us Bangladeshis mostly eat on a daily basis and lentil soup is very common. Eating vegetable curry and lentil soup is very common. Many people will eat vegetable curry and lentil soup everyday once or twice will not object.

  • Without meat you cannot live. Plants contain phytic acid that prevent vitamin and mineral absorption. But most meat is factory raised loaded with antibiotics. So eat small fresh fish everyday like sardines

  • I’m not gonna say it’ll never happen in America, but to a certain type of American, telling them the impact of eating less meat will cause them to react as if you’re impeding on their “freedom”. From an American to the rest of the world, please bare with us as the younger American generations teach the stubborn “Older” generations alternative ways. They are just not used to being held accountable.

  • But more land is used to grow soybeans to feed the animals. Soy isn’t exclusively to vegan food. Soy is added to many foods including baked goods such as breads and cookies, canned meats, infant formula, canned, cereals, soups and candy bars

  • Maybe just get billionaires to actually contribute anything to society instead of guilt tripping regular people into changing every habit of their existence to maybe perhaps probably help a tiny bit to fight the impeding doom? Just a thought ‍♀️

  • If veganism’s main argument is environmental issues, then it’s stupid. Demand for e.g. soy increases, therefore crops are expanding at the expense of other ecosystems (such as forests etc) so there is nothing environmental to it. And also, if a vegan keeps using plastic, electricity, laptops, smartphones, the internet and pretty much everything produced in our century, he/she is just a huge hypocrite. The only solution is going full environmental, which means living in nature (and don’t you even think of killing cockroaches and other bugs) with technologies dating back in the 9th century AC. Whatever happened to just keeping a reasonable measure of what you consume… And to sum up, it’s not bad to eat meat, I mean it sustains the food pyramid. Animals eat meat, animals are nature, therefore it’s natural. If you wanna be vegans, go ahead, no problem. But if americans alone consumed less meat we would ve been just fine.

  • I posted a video talking about why I became vegetarian, tips for beginners, and pros and cons. Im a new youtuber and would love for you to subscribe. If you comment done I will be sure to the same:)))

  • 40% of Indians (550M) are pure vegetarian from birth and 50% of Indians (680M) eat non veg but not regularly, just once or twice a week and remaining 10% (140M) eat non veg daily.

  • Again, this is why balance is important. Going from one extreme to another only results in higher demand, increased consumerism and then more production which in turn effects the environment. So why not eat meat from sustainable free range sources and reduce the amount, sustainable fish and eat local seasonal veg with a couple veggie dishes per week. Meat and veg each meal is old fashioned thinking and doesn’t work. I don’t think if everyone turned vegan that that would be good either. So balance is key. My only single moral issue is the dairy industry, so i reduce my intake where I can such as drinking oat milk.

  • ok but if ur doing it for the environment then that’s ur biggest concern so you’d be buying locally sourced food seasonal food etc. right. if they were doing if for animals they’d be researching products that are cruelty free. if it’s for health then they’d be looking for healthy foods. it’s not just vegan help environment i do that then. it’s a lot more thought out and so people who care about the environment will be helping it and not making it worse as you seem to be trying to imply. am i making sense.

  • All that Dr Klaper said was great, but there is something that all Drs miss in their practices is to help patients get rid of all the parasites and Candida in their gut, which controlls our diet.
We eat what they want us to eat. They control our minds, and thats what makes it so difficult to resist those foods.

  • PLEASE take into consideration that we also need to cut off our fish intake! Oceans are terribly in danger and we have only 5 to 10% of fish left! It is very important and if our ocean could be healthier (now it’s NOT) it could absorb a lot of CO2 from the air and really make the planet healthier. Let’s try to restore it and give up on fish, rather that make things worse than they already are. Eat chia seeds and nuts for omegas! It’s hard I know, but we have to put in effort and to be less selfish than ever! Thank you for reading.

  • It’s still shock me just how a number of people have no clue about Custokebon Secrets although lots of people using it. Thanks to my mate who told me about this. I’ve lost a ton of weight.

  • Global warming and Climate change is not real… Earth can naturally return to Snowball Earth at any time your civilization is dependent upon green house gasses to stay alive… without our fossil fuels, eventually too much carbon is trapped in the ground, life and evolution grinds to a halt, and the world freezes over once again.:-( brrr.

  • No Sugar, no preservatives, diversification, seasonal & no breakfast with daily 1hour plus active(out of breath) and strength training that’s it.

  • Oh dear another vegan talking out of his ass. I have to remember they only do this because their brains don’t work anymore…lack of DEA, no doubt.

  • Also farms/slaughterhouses tend to be near poorer communities where cheap labor is available and the rot from all that is making the people sick. Some residents argue that it’s a civil rights issue as well.: (

  • Vegetarianism is not just collerated with disordered eating patterns, it is an eating disorder in and of itself. There are perfectly valid reasons healthwise to eat less meat and eat more stuff that isn’t meat. But there is virtually no rational reason to eliminate an entire food group from your diet. Vegetarianism is stupid and puts your health and well being at risk.

  • I’m a meatetarian. It’s a personal choice. I WILL eat vegetables of course as long as they’re wrapped in bacon. Mmmmm….bacon.

  • If you found this video interesting maybe you will find the following also interesting!
Hello! I know this has nothing to do with this particulary video but I am a student from the Department of Psychology at the SFU University. • I used to look at vegetarians and consider them wackos. But you guys could be the answer. Since I suppressed all the meat and dairy products in my diet I’ve felt incredibly well. I never thought I’d become one of you. Life is full of surprises. I used to love eating meat.

  • The water can be sent to countries that are in much more need for it, how? And how much of CO2 will be emitted in the process? Yes I agree we produced too much food but why? It’s not the consumer’s fault is it? So guilt trip people into thinking they can make a difference. Why are food producers allowed (and not taxed) for their packaging, but when it comes to the people they have to pay a price for the carrier bags that are produced in plastic? What happened to the paper bags? Those in charge create a crisis then point the finger at us. Nuff’s nuff

  • To everyone saying that a balanced diet is the only true way to live. Everyone is different, everyone’s bodies are unique. In fact I can’t have a “balanced diet” because I am lactose intolerant and dairy makes me sick. Everyone’s bodies work a little differently.

  • I am vegan primarily for the ethical reasons, and would be fascinated to hear a well-constructed, non-hedonistic argument for consuming meat and other animal products. Veganism to me seems the only logical option if you care at all about the well-being of other beings of consciousness.

  • If people invent 100% effective non-lethal pest control and create usable plant-based alternative for fur and leather being vegan will really make a sence.

  • Good day every one i want to inform the public on how i get cured of HIV/AIDS by a Doctor called Dr Irosi. i visited different hospital but they gave me list of expensive drugs to treat the symptoms and never cured me. • I very much HATE fish so that’s a no from me, but I also don’t really eat beef so I guess that’s good too. chicken is the way to go

  • My conscious is clear about being a vegan or vegetarian to be environmentally conscious: I prefer not to be one. However, the second and most underrated lifestyle I prefer is eating insects, and entomophagy should have got spotlight into the video because it is a formidable force for positive environmental impact.

  • I’ve been vegan for a week and all that’s changed is my skin is clearing up and I feel a little more energized and out there. My moods changed in general. I’ve been mostly happy you could say, even though I’m a little hungry. It didn’t change my weight though

  • I don’t eat that much meat to begin with. Once a week maybe even once every 2 weeks. I certainly can’t eat anything sea related, never have. Any tips on becoming a full vegetarian? What should be included in every meal?

  • Okay for real…. if we get rid of meat farms we would replace them with vegan farms. Stop blaming vegans for cutting down the environment!!! Wtf you thinking.

  • BBC is always great at defending British culture, they dont know that if we switch to vegan a land of size of africa continent will be free for forest development we can use some portion to plant agriculture produce. Dont be happy with non vegetarian diet. Shameful Britain will lose most land according to climate change.

  • What about both,

The only reason why vegan makes you feel better is because it trains your body to eat healthier, or trains it to and your body adjusts in that way too. But that’s why after some years you will crave meat and feel bad. So a mix

  • I was vegan for a long while, I never, ever thought I needed meat ever again. On a vegan diet I was never healthy, always fat and low on energy 24/7. Some people do wonderfully on a vegan diet. Others dont….

  • I would like to make the switch but my girl is not on board..(it is very difficult when only 1 person wants to make the change and the other just flat out refuses) any advice on how to get her to see the light.

  • Did he seriously include meat as part of an unhealthy VEGAN diet?? Plus, potatoes aren’t unhealthy! They’re a high GI food, sure, but that doesn’t make them bad for you. They’re friggin’ starchy vegetables!

  • What a shock. Humans want to be omnivores and not vegan. Love how she just blew off the fact that vegan foods are regional. She disregards the impact of transportation of the foods all across across the world.

  • Everyone should read this book: https://books.google.ca/books?hl=en&lr=&id=1B9LQQkm_qMC&oi=fnd&pg=PP18&ots=LN0XjWcPsH&sig=qNKDZtS4y8gfVIPuIMRRiizfzcw&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false

  • I love how vegans call people who eat meat
While they have an actual title, the others are just called MEAT EATERS
    Or carnivores
    Which isn’t true at all
We are omnivores, we eat everything and most people eat more vegetables than meat

    It’s funny is all

  • We are not designed to eat meat. Simple as that. There’s no way around it. We don’t have the teeth or stomach for it. Or the need for that matter.

  • Is there one of these about corporal punishment? I’ve heard people say that it’s associated with increased aggression, but I haven’t seen something like a big meta-analysis or better yet a nice little video.

  • Everyone wanna fight and argue and it happens to be vegans and vegetarians in the fight you know when the beef just taste like veggie?

  • It’s is bullshit about the territory for soy grow. The slaughter houses takes more place than soy fields and if we reduce meat and dairy consumption we will have more place for this fields because animals industry takes more place that any other. So search for the facts before making this video.People are right, you annoyed two sides both vegan and non vegans

  • Veganism is not a diet,
And you can’t be an environmentalist without being plant-based, just shut up about causing a significant climate damage instead of reducing it to the least as you can!

  • By your definition, meat eaters are people with no diet. Therefore, that doesn’t limit carbs intake. You should’ve compared with carnivores or Keto people, people who eat meat is wayyy too vague.

  • Look I eat enough fruits and veggies I drink milk and kinda eat eggs but I don’t really like them I just don’t eat meat at all I will eat anything else I’m not big on sweats or snacks

  • studies prove than vegan proceeded food product are much harmful to human
by the way, Okinawa people diet has only 30% of vegetables and 27% of fish and 6% of pork
and they consume alcohol very day

  • The biggest problem in my opinion with meat eating is the environmental disaster it causes. It contributes to global warming, humans deforest 90% of the Amazon for cattle, we cultivate more crops for cows than for humans, we use more water for cows than for humans, and many more problems.

  • Fish eaters have been proven to live the longest I.e. Pescatarians which is what I subscribe to. A diet consisting of whole plant foods, fruit, nuts, grains and fish is optimal for humans. Stay away from land animals.

  • Take it from someone who is vegan 38 years…you will be healthier when you get older if you eat a well balanced diet which includes both meat and plants

  • I’m Mexican. Being vegan and an adequate Mexican is just incompatible. Mole without meat???? Meatless pozole??? Meatless tacos??? That’s just not right!!!

  • I’d agree if epidemiological studies weren’t pointing to same direction every time. You’re just spreading FUD, man. Also why are you fat.

  • Great piece Doc. Observational studies, especially without sufficient adherence to Scientific Method, having truly diverse and statistically significant number of subjects doesn’t seem that much to ask for. I’m not talking just an equal number of men and women, but different socioeconomic groups, nations of origin, cultural traditions, ethnic origin, level of education, various ages, over TIME.

Even if we just fix how new studies are reported today, something like this piece, but even more so. For example, there was a time when every T.V. Network had Science editor or regular scientific and medical contributors. Even our local Chanel’s had a Science, Tech and Medical Editor. Without that we raw information reported WITHOUT context.

For example, either late last year or early this year a study was released that indicated that eating a specific food, and that food eludes me at the moment, I’d have to go back check my notes. Whenever I here of a new study, in just about any branch of science or medicine I read the original study to check methodology, numbers, of start with their Thesis and Abstract, then the conclusion, read the procedure, data. Then read the and scholarly work, in support or denouncing the study and look for standing and other similar research. It sounds exhaustive, but it’s just the way my mind works.

At any rate, this study read and reported that for the average American, and they should have written it as non-Asian American. If you eat x your likelihood, probability, of developing Stomach Cancer increased 30%. So that is exactly what they reported. But no context. In the U.S. for non-Asian Americans, in men the probability of males developing Stomach Cancer is 1 in 95 and for women 1 in 154, and is THAT PROBABILITY that increased by 30%, NOT an American’s OVERALL RISK. But that’s how they left it hanging out there like that.

That makes me so angry‼️‼️ Thank you for ALL the hard work and dedication‼️‼️‼️♥️♥️♥️✊✊✊‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️⚗️⚗️⚗️

  • http://www.integrativenutritionaltherapies.com/healed-cavities-reversed-dental-health-imbalances-naturally/ Check this out Vegans, just to make sure your doing your diet right.

  • I’m going to continue to eat my tasty beef. Veganism will destroy the planet. We stop killing animals, their population grows, we use resources just like we did earlier to produce more plant based food, we use more fertilizer and more energy to grow plants (since we have to eat more plants in order to satisfy hunger vs a balanced diet), we have an even bigger footprint.

  • i really dislike how vegan, try to make all people vegan. by not telling the truth about the diet. it great for a bit but not long term. we had a family that put all children on the vegan diet. the 18mo old died of malnutrition. the dhs test all the kids and then took the way.

  • I have been trying this Elevacity product for memory and focus and it actually works as a weight loss product too. Here is my blog of my journey and the product. I do not sell the product!! https://foreigngirly.com/2020/08/05/elevacity/

  • It is easy to figure out what effect foods will have on you. Just try different things like try eating only whole food plant-based with little to no oil for 30 days, go on, I dare you.

  • Tonight for dinner I had kidney beans w/ southern style greens & peppers… and it’s my birthday so I made a chocolate biscuit with caramel gravy lol

  • And yes six countries in South America are chopping down the Amazon rain forest to grow soya and you can’t blame it all on feeding the animals. After all they only eat what the vegans won’t eat…. the leftovers.

  • I remember the size of the portions, when I was a Child, specially the size of the Meat. But now, OMG, people can eat an entire pound in dinner of supper, because they are used to. it is incredible, when I was Child, Rememer my mother buy a quarter of pound for the 3 of us with my sister (my dad was a miner, so He ate in the Workers Dinner by that time), We are the generation who eats double portions of everything.

  • What a bunch of BS. He states only the negatives of eating a meat diet, he is intentionally putting all meat diets in the same bag, both McDonalds and quality meats cooked at home are equally as bad, right? Meanwhile, he is only exposing the good side of eating a plant based diet.

What about the pesticides and fertilizers in plants that you are eating? Most lemons in supermarkets hold a warning about eating the skin, it is forbidden due to fungicides used, and the warning was only added recently.

What about the erosion caused globbaly by intensive farming? Who will grow organic fruits and veggies for 7.5 billion people? We barely can feed everyone as it is.

Also, you don;t look so well, doctor, you need some protein, you look starved. What about people that have to perform physical labour, construction workers or anyone that needs meat to get thru the work day?

I get where you are coming from but my grandma died at 89 years old eating a “paleo diet” of stuff she grew on the farm, and so did her parents and siblings.

How about you start talking about processed food and drop the meat BS.

  • One more plant base diet guy? Always we blame meat, but never the starches, carbohydrates and sugar. Has to be the meat? Come on. You to old to know that insulin is the cause of the problem?

  • Part of the problem with RCTs and nutrition, in my opinion, is that nutrition is very much tied to a person’s health. What right do we have to possibly make participants sick or obese (a pattern that can be very hard to break out of) for research purposes? Furthermore, it’s very hard, nutritionally, to compare apples ot apples, figuratively speaking. Is a bag of potato chips equal to a baked potato or mashed potatoes? Can you really lump fruit in with candy or meat? Just from my own experience, I can say I feel a lot better eating fresh fruit so often (now that I live less than 2 miles from multiple grocery stores… instead of being 65 miles away…). Of course, the plural of anecdote isn’t data and I’m sure results vary. Still, it’s hard to see fresh fruit as ‘unhealthy’. Furthermore, I’m sure that not all meat is created equal. There’s a big difference between a boiled chicken salad and fried chicken with fries, for example. That said, I’m sure I’m biased, as likely pretty much everyone is. Full disclosure, I’m vegetarian (in part because I really don’t like writhing in pain for hours on end after eating meat… it’s just not fun for me). Of course I’m going to personally think that a gluten-based diet with lots of fresh fruit and veggies and grains (and the occassional egg or dairy product) is awesome because that’s what I eat, and I do well on it. Clearly, imposing my diet on someone with Celiac’s disease would be a very, very bad idea. I think this is why nutrition science is so difficult. Everyone’s body is different, and one size may never fit all.

  • You don’t have to go vegan to fight climate change. But research shows that you can save animals and live more in line with your values.

  • PLant based diet will NOT work for you….UNLESS it’s ORGANIC, and UNLESS you also include some Fermented foods such as Yogurt, Fermented High protein BREADS….. Any Athlete will know what I’m talking about. Many Plant-based body builders and athletes STILL rely on Concentrated PLant-based Protein Powders to get enough protein, and unless these are fermented and containing enzymes, theyre also HARD to digest…..

  • vegan diet is harful for your health it can cause vitamin b12 heme iron vitamin d omega 3 and zinc deficiency meat is good as long as you eat the grass feed and unprocessed ones not those corn feed and processed ones

  • More than 60% indians don’t consume redmeat, over 40% of indians are vegetarians… least consumption of meat compared to individual from any country on the planet, Despite of our high population. Be like INDIANS!

  • My mom was a vegetarian for over 40 years. She ate a chicken fry confused for a cheese stick and never went back. She was always sick and once she started eating meat she became a whole new woman who became very adventurous and active ‍♂️ not for everybody but don’t knock people who eat meat it’s a balance

  • The study puts potatoes in the same category as processed sweets and desserts as well as chemically sweetened and flavored beverages.
I think I’m gonna take this with a very small pinch of salt.
Anyone who thinks potatoes are as bad as candy should not be running a study in the first place.

  • This is a really good video, We tracked down an article about Research Shows Plant Protein Increases Longevity let’s checkout https://www.strengthyogi.com/new-research-shows-plant-protein-increases-longevity/

  • A study published in Journal of Agriculture and Environmental Ethics examined incidental death of field animals that occurred as a result of growing and harvesting crops in the United States, and the estimate is that 7.3 BILLION animals die annually. Approximately only 40 million cows were harvested in the same time period. This could even be improved if ALL cows were pasture raised and never fed grains. But you cannot make crop harvesting any less deadly. Proof that vegans are cruel to animals and don’t care about animal welfare. Who are vegans to judge which animal life counts more than the life of other animals?? If you care about the animals of this planet in general eat carnivore.

  • Do natural popular weight loss method like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? I’ve noticed several amazing things about this popular weight loss secrets.

  • Humans are genetically by convergent evolution very similar to pigs which is the most intensive factory farm bred animal and the largest source of meat globally. The fact is that human contact with monkeys and bats is extremely rare that make mutation of virus among humans and them extremely unlikely. You simply you can’t stop Viruses from evolving because this is the first aim of life and survival.

  • Tell this to the Mountain Men who lived from 1800 to 1840 on a diet of 85% wild meat. and a 15% roots and herbs! Without them exploring the West and Lewis and Clark following close behind in 1804…..vegans wouldn’t be around to even speak!

  • This video has great information, but I’m confused about the best diet plan that I need to work with, only because I have never taken any. Anybody tried the Custokebon Secrets? I’ve heard several folks refer to extraordinary things about Custokebon Secrets.

  • this is a shit study, why is this kind of useless studies always conducted over and over? hmm I wonder why… follow the money perhaps we would find vegan food companies supporting this shit

  • found the history of first vegan!!!!! rofl hahahahahahaaaaa!!!! no one could trace back dietary habits of Indian civilizations…poor research, misleading, not expected this from BBC…

  • Pasture-raised animals and cholesterol aren’t the enemies; sugar in all of its forms, industrial seed oils, GMOs, confined/GMO-fed animals, smoking, lack of sleep, and stress/chronic inflammation are the enemies!!!

  • I can’t trust many studies or even science anymore when it comes to nutrition cause there’s so many studies that contradict one another and so many made to get you to buy stuff. Plants having antinutrients and oxalates for example which can damage your health in excess (which is why many vegans drink lemon water and maybe get kidney stones) and then saying red meat is bad but never looking at the quality of the meat. I think its important to eat for your individual health concern and see nutritionist to design a diet for you or use your own intuition. The amount of ex-vegan videos out there that did it right and supplemented and still failed are a lot, and then you have the opposite crazy end of only carnivore eaters who are anti plants….there’s like a war over nutrition

  • It’s better going Vegan I agree but having meat once in a while in a country that has free range livestock free of hormones. In the uk they inject hormones and other things into the livestock so they can get big.

  • If today I stop eating a keto-ish diet and only eat fresh fruits and veggies no matter how much or little, my gums will bleed by late afternoon no gum bleeding issues on me eating a keto-ish way. Can someone explain why this is? Doctors can’t explain it to me even after blood tests, so maybe some of you have experienced the same and would appreciate a non-biased of why and or how to remedy this if I were to decide to be more plant-based. Thanks.

  • The major issue here is that plant fats are liquid at body temperature and animal fats are solid at body temperature. It is also that we are not omnivores and they can not be overfed cholesterol and they do not have heart attacks or strokes due to cholesterol. According to biological anthropologists we are starchivores.

  • 1 to 2 per 100,000 still means a lot of people when extrapolating to an entire population. Also, this particular study can’t establish causal link because it’s an observational study however plant based diets are the only diet that has been proven in clinical trials to reverse heart disease and stroke in the dean ornish studies. No other diet has done this in a clinical setting so taking observational studies and clinical studies together you can determine that healthy plant based diets reduce risk of cardiovascular events. The dean ornish studies in particular were a no oil whole foods plant based study and took participants that were already on death’s door from multiple heart attacks in the past. Almost every participant that adhered to the diet didn’t have another heart attack and 60% of those who didn’t adhere to the diet did.

You need to take all the evidence as a whole, you can dismiss any one single study but when you look at all of them as a whole you can’t deny that plant based diets save lives.

  • Fishnets that are the biggest plastic polluter of the ocean. So replacing meat with fish actually just changes the type of damage to the environment you are doing. It’s not fun or amazing but a vegetarian/vegan diet it’s the one who causes the least damage to our future.

  • You can also look at say foods like cashews, avocados, etc which contribute a lot towards environmental impact but are seen as healthy choices. Also, CO2 emissions are not the only way to measure environmental impact, you also need to think of water use and energy required. So cheese is also extremely bad.

  • Why is it based on the US diet anyway? The main problem the world faces is that it’s now home to approaching 8 billion people! The very simple fact is that either population growth needs to plateau or in actual fact be heavily reduced or people are either going to have to accept compromises in how they choose to live. Whether that’s cutting things out altogether or accepting that mass production, battery farming, artificial hormone growth, animal welfare and altogether generally substandard faming practices. Generally speaking the overall food yield of an equivalent area of land required to produce meat is going to be considerably greater than that of crops on average. That’s factoring in grazing, irrigation and other land such as soy plantations with the sole purpose of feeding livestock. There simply isn’t a rational argument against it. Farm land is capable of supporting more wildlife than pasture. Some of it absorbs vast volumes of CO2 rather than creating it. The evidence is well established and unbiased. These are simply heavily doctored meaningless figures provided to make ignorant idlers feel better about themselves.

  • HE WAS HE WAS HE WAS HE WAS HE WAS HE WAS HE WAS. THAT’S U AND NOT ME. TOO many THEORIES. Dr. A will say it’s good to eat, and Dr. B will say its bad so stay away. What do you guys want us to eat Now?

  • Net carbs, vegetables are fibre…
Where are the vedges getting their Vit K2 Mk7… Then you’ve gotta factor in bio availability… Half truths and slight of hand…

  • I swear vegans think they the fountain of youth with health, vegetarians can be healthy as well jeez, one is not better than the other they are both good just eat healthy!!!

  • Does Custokebon Secrets really work? I notice lots of people keep on speaking about Custokebon Secrets. But I’m uncertain if it’s good enough to lost a ton of fat.

  • I want to give a testimony on how I got cured from Herpes Virus. Few months back I was having some symptoms. I went to see a doctor and many blood tests was done on me, later on I was told I had Herpes. My doctor told me that there’s no cure for Herpes I felt bad, I went online searching for a possible cure for Herpes Virus, I saw a post of Dr Ozula a herbal doctor that cured someone from Herpes. I contacted him and told him how I’m feeling he said his herbal medicine can cure me. He sent me the medicine via Courier Service and I received the medicine some days after he sent it, i took the medicine as prescribed by him. Before the completion of the medication the symptoms stopped. I went to the doctor and carried out another blood test, surprisingly I was Negative. • so the message of this video is to EAT LESS MEAT (very important to reduce environmental impact) and replace it by EATING MORE NUTRITIOUS VEGGIES, not only lettuce.

  • Hi there, have you considered Custokebon Secrets yet? Simply just do a google search engine search. On there you will discover that a great suggestions about how exactly you can lost a lot of weight. Why don’t you give it a shot? maybe it’ll work for you too.

  • Even if this is true, I would still eat meat. I’m here for a good time, not a long time. That was said by a wise man on youtube prior to me.

  • what a load off bullshit, i like to eat meat but i know that vegetarians are having a way lower eco footprint then meat eaters, spreading lies arent gonna help anyone mate

  • Ethical arguments against veganism (partial):

    1. If someone doesn’t feel pain, is it okay for us to break their bones? If not, vegans shouldn’t eat plants either. For example, people born with congenital analgesia cannot feel pain and are far more susceptible to life-threatening injuries than others. Even though they can feel discriminative touch and have normal cognition and sensation. This line of reasoning also provides a definitive answer to the contentious vegan issue of whether or not invertebrates deserve rights due to their lack of nociceptors, which may or may not be a prerequisite for the capacity to feel pain. And who is to say plants don’t feel something analogous to pain as well? Is the scientific and philosophical debate really settled on the matter?

    2. Humans are facultative carnivores in nature. Even if it’s for the simple fact that we absorb our B12 in our small intestines instead of our large intestines in the manner of herbivores and therefore, depend on animal products for our survival. It’s fallacious to classify us as obligate omnivores. Because we could do without plants in our diets altogether but not the other way round. Inuits, Chukotkas, Masais, Samburus, Rendilles, Mongolian steppe nomads are examples of people who historically thrived on all-meat diets. Our bodies were designed to break down meat. Why is something natural wrong, even if it has features that are unpleasant? Should we get rid of gender too since men have unfair physical advantages over women?

    3. Is animal exploitation wrong even when it saves human lives? Is an animal derived medication or organ transplantation non-vegan? If it is, doesn’t it imply that the lives of a few animals are more important than that of a human patient who benefits from them? Is this needless too? Or should we let nature take its course instead? If we should, then why is it wrong to eat meat either? Isn’t it natural too? And if human lives do indeed take precedence over that of animals, why are vegans against animal experimentation as a matter of principle?

    4. How much should a vegan eat in a day? And what should they eat from their already restrictive options? Since cruelty and death is involved in the production of every single fruit, vegetable or grain they eat, shouldn’t they further restrict their options by choosing a mix of those food items that will cause the minimum amount of harm to animals and insects while meeting the daily nutrient and caloric requirements of the most amount of vegans at the same time? For example, shouldn’t vegans avoid fruits and vegetables that depend on beekeeping and the exploitation of other pollinators? Moreover, shouldn’t there be an upper limit to how many calories a vegan could consume in a day depending on their age, height, genetics, sex and employment status? Otherwise, lifestyle choices that lead to either obesity or muscle gain (bodybuilding) cause unnecessary harm to animals and insects since they require an excess of caloric intake on behalf of their practitioners. If we are to enforce these ideal vegan food rationing policies on a state level, doesn’t the vegan discourse devolve into becoming an extension of the broader socialist discourse by default? If the pros of socialism don’t outweigh its cons, is veganism something practicable or even desirable for the common man to pursue?

    5. Meat is required for optimal health. There are nutrients in animals that we simply cannot find in plants. Then there’s the fact that we can more readily absorb essential nutrients from animal products than from plants due to the lack of antinutrients, which in some cases, can be lethal. Plus, animal nutrients exist in a more bioavailable form in comparison to the plant variety. An example would be the disproportionate superiority of retinol over beta carotene in meeting our daily vitamin A requirements, to say nothing of people with poor conversion rates by the virtue of being born with particular BCO1 gene variants. Why should we consume a prohibitive amount of nutrient-sparse food which is time-consuming, uncomfortable and unhealthy due to its high fiber content and can even ruin our guts? Not to mention the added baggage of vitamin and probiotic supplements that come along with the unnatural diet. If health isn’t the most basic of requirements for a happy life, then what else is?

    6. If both plants and animals are off the menu due to ethical considerations, should chemically manufactured food alternatives and nutrient supplements be the future of “food” for humanity? Why should we substitute food with chemical goo when our bodies are best adapted to and have evolved over millions of years to their current state fueled by an omnivorous diet? The potential consequences could be disastrous for our species in the long run.

    7. In the near future, the already existent cultured meat will become commercially available at an inexpensive price for mass consumption. If a human donor can donate a pound of their flesh to feed a small town in the process, why is it unethical to procure it from animals instead? If altruism is a good thing, why are humans to blame for the shortcomings of animal cognition? A portion of cultured pork meant for human consumption can be fed back to pigs as well.

    8. Why should it ever be right to prevent a man from raising his own animals for food? Why should we infringe on individual liberty? Both cultured meat or a supplement aided vegan diet is dependent on big corporations and the expertise of a small, elite group of specialists. Why should people from other walks of life throw their most basic right away to the whims of a powerful minority? If they get to control our bodies, they get to control our policies as well.

    11. If meat is murder, does that make a pig a genocidal maniac to maggots? If someone kills Hitler, they’re not responsible for the deaths of millions of people he murdered as well. In the same vein, if a pig consumes thousands of maggots or a cow consumes thousands of grass plants in their lifetimes, one is only responsible for a single “murder”. On the other hand, if vegans don’t deliberately massacre quintillions of insects by unleashing an arsenal of deadly pesticides upon them to protect their crops, there’ll be nothing left for them to harvest. Is the exploitation of a single cow that will last an individual years or the cruelty inflicted upon thousands of insects by deliberately massacring them with pesticides for a single vegan meal, the lesser of the two evils? And is meat stealing, if we leave the murder part to an untamed predator? If so, isn’t it still better than a vegan meal since it’s at least murder-free? If this sounds like overreaching, then I’d like to put forth the similar example of idyllic but unsustainable veganic farms where predators are introduced as a measure for pest control in order to limit the use of pesticides.

    13. Why is it okay for animals to eat other animals, including human beings, but not the other way round in the vegan worldview? In the absence of a reciprocal relationship under a mutually understandable and agreed upon moral framework, no moral system can exist. Animals can’t form a social contract with humans, nor can plants. Therefore, they’re not worthy of our moral consideration. And if we are to increase our sphere of compassion towards animals, why should plants get excluded in the process? But most importantly, why should animals get to eat their proper diet while we humans get to suffer for a cause that doesn’t aid our survival? Should humans not even be on top of the food chain too, if we’re to take the moral agency argument to its logical extreme? The paradox is that civilization requires mankind to be dominant over other species of animals in order for it to flourish. There’s no such thing as a free space in nature. We cannot extend our animal welfare policies in the absence of civilization or without us being on top. The mere existence of humans is detrimental to animals on a fundamental level.

    14. If vegans really value animal lives, including those of rodents and insects, shouldn’t they adopt a lifestyle that causes minimum harm to them without being outright misanthropic? Shouldn’t they take a more anti-modernization stance in general and be closer to nature like the civilizations of the uncontacted tribes of the world? If not, how is the impact of modernization upon non-human animals not tantamount to ethnic cleansing through population displacement in a human context at the very least? Not to mention the crop deaths, municipal pest controls, uprooting of wildlife habitats, mining and a host of other disasters that come along with it. Isn’t it hypocritical to be vegan while reaping the benefits of modernization at the same time? Is the life of an earthworm or a fruit fly less valuable than that of a cow or a dog? If so, is this a morally consistent position to hold?

  • God made us to eat both meat and plants, going against nature is bad.
Fish eat other fish, animals eat other animals.
Its nature people, and healthiest diet is balanced diet.

  • Actually, much of what Dr. Klaper has said IS SUPPORTED by scientific evidence. The fact that it is flagged still shows the powerful influence of those in favour of animal agriculture.

  • * Applause *
I agree so much with this video. It’s about reducing suffering, not about the definition of veganism that someone once made up.
Honestly this is the reason I tend to say to people that I don’t eat animal products, instead of saying that I am vegan. People tend to have stricter ideas about that last one.

  • So vegans say the whole world must go vegan. And I asked myself this. What about animal shelters for carnivorous animals such as lions? If the world was vegan, would we deny those lions their food? How would we feed them while maintaining our vegan morals? (That lion can no longer live in the wild due to an injury)

I assume vegans would say “human sacrifice, or feed them people who are on death row”. Because they cannot simply feed them dead or sick animals, as it violates their vegan morals

What are your solutions? Would we let the lions die because of survival of the fittest?

  • Tbh how real those headlines our who knows, however what we do know is this: Large meat consumption is bad for the planet. For example water, it takes nearly 40L of water to produce 1kg of vegetables, in comparison to the nearly 15,500L of water it takes to produce 1kg of beef. The mass amounts of land we use to produce animal feed for animals that alot of us could eat, we could use that same land to invest in food for ourselves. By evan moving to a mediterranean diet, by 2050 we could reduce 15% of CO2 emissions, which is nearly equal to taking a 1billion cars of our roads. Not saying everyone should stop eating meat, i just think people should just be a little more weary on the amount of meat people consume, because tbh, thats alot more harmful than anything else

  • This is the most glaringly manipulative and misinforming video I have ever, really EVER seen! Shame on you BBC! How can you give your name to this?

  • How much lettuce do u think that pig ate before it got slaughtered. So if we stop eating meat, those greenhouse gasses would either stay the same or even go down, u know, thinking about cows and other animals eating those vegetables that we could be eating, a lot of people wouldn’t go hungry like they do. Because we wouldn’t have to force breed animals like we do to keep up the demands of meat eaters. And you can get your protein and calories from beans and nuts and soy and plenty other things. Also we would have more fresh water

  • Who counts calories with vegetables??? BTW, counting calories is not really a great idea if you are eating a healthy diet with lots of fruits and veggies and not stuffing yourself with trashy foods, you shouldn’t need to do that.

  • I find it confusing we are still having to state these facts and still encountering so much adversity. It’s quite simple really. Go vegan and save yourself, the animals and the planet.

  • Keep the next 5 mins of your life & know thisthe studies and in this crap promotion are TOTAL BUNK which he reveals at the very end. Godfuckingdamit Move on as fast as you can.

  • Lol “some” soya beans are fed to animals rainforest destruction is a result of soyabeans yeah but the vast majority is fed to animals

  • Thanks for clearing that up. Eating all that meat is messing up the brains of all the meat eaters into misinterpreting statistics.

  • To get the equivalent amount of caloriies from from plants as from a pound of meat you’ll need to eat 6-7-8-9 pounds of veggies. Therefore you’ll become the cow BUT whereas th cow’s body is adapted to process huge amounts of veg matter human bodies are NOT. Human bodies canNOT process gelreat amounts of veg fiber. That’s why juicing in necessary when you’re on a high plant diet. Therefore if all people were to switch to a plants only diet land under cultivation would not be significantly less than it is now and we would a very much needed source of crop fertilization: animal fertiler bcz chemical fertilizers alone will deplete th soil in th long term.
But however anyone does NOT wish to consume animal products please, PLEASE, P-L-E-A-S-E!!! Do NOT!! This way there will b more animal products for those who truly need, want and appreciate them.

  • Do you know how many cups of lettuce it takes to feed enough pigs to produce 468 calories? Try 930. Simply the most elementary of biology. There is a loss of 90% of energy between tropic levels meaning that every 10 calories of feed that goes towards animals like pigs or cows only results in 1 calorie of consumable meat. Eating the 468 calories of primary producer will always be 10x better for the environment than 468 calories of primary consumer.

  • You are comparing unsustainable pork raising to organic plant farming. Healthy, grass based animal agriculture is vital to a healthy ecosystem. And plant farming is devastating if done unsustainably. Furthermore, Only 11% of the land on earth can be farmed.

  • In the US, about 40% of people are vitamin B12 deficient. It’s not a vegan thing. Plus loads of vegan foods are fortified with B12, so as a vegan I don’t have to worry about it. The livestock that meat eaters eat are pumped with b12 as well, since B12 isn’t found naturally in meat.

  • Lettuce is the whackest vegetable out there anyways. If you are Vegan like I am, consume all the other more nutrient dense greens!

  • Cows don’t eat vegetarian diets. They eat thin air and the well-meaning thoughts of people for whom the objection to vegetarianism is “bacon tastes good.”

  • Bizarro research… You can eat butter, milk and general dairy products plus beans. They all use a tiny fraction (5% or far less) in terms of energy resources to produce the same food.. But caloric intake is not 10% of that. In fact, exactly the cost of raising pork to produce four strips of bacon has prevented it from becoming staple foods in most middle income to poor countries.

  • Americans need to stop producing more shit before eating less….They are literally wasting more food than the entire productions of sub-saharan africa whose population is more than double of USA

  • I think the problem with people who don’t want to change their diet is that they don’t associate themselves with this planet. I think that when the consequence of people’s actions doesn’t directly effect them, the see no reason to change. However, if people can be taught that their actions now directly effect the world they live in, and therefore their standard of living, things would be different. I’m sure if the amount of pig, cow and chicken feces that accompanied the amount of food meat eaters eat on a daily basis, was dumped onto themselves, or their bed, or their house, they would surely stop consuming animal products lol.
