  • Want cheap pancakes? Mix 1 cup of flour, 1 cup milk, 1 egg add small pinch of salt.. BAM cheap pancakes. Flip over when you start seeing small bubbles popping.

  • These videos are so misleading. Stop with the “oh they’re only $1.50 a serving!” Tell me how much you spent at the grocery store to buy all the ingredients. A person actually living on a budget doesn’t care how cheap it is per serving, we want to know how much I’ll be spending when I check out. You only used $0.45 of quinoa? A bag of quinoa is like $3.50. I would not be spending $1.29 on a meal, I’d be spending almost $7 to buy all the ingredients, and that’s a big difference for people who live paycheck to paycheck.

  • You can make the banana pancakes simpler and cheaper:
    One egg, one banana, mush it all up (maybe add water if you wanna thin it out) and fry in a pan like normal. Like she said, the spottier the banana the better!

  • Ok, let’s get something straight here… YOU DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT NEED TO WASH YOUR CHICKEN AFTER TAKING OUT OF THE PACKAGE! Especially if you’re using right away after buying it from the store. Washing your chicken can actually lead to an increased risk of salmonella if you’re not careful or don’t take the proper precautions. Think about it; you’ve just washed off your chicken and now the juices from that chicken are just sitting in your sink, on your dishes and utensils, your counter, etc… now let’s say you have a family, a roommate or are just forgetful. What happens if you don’t properly sanitize the area where you washed your chicken? You’re exposing unnecessary bacteria to yourself, your friends and your family. TL;DR: DON’T WASH YOUR FREAKING CHICKEN!

  • One of my favorite low effort meals are peanut noodles �� I do this quite often especially if I have leftover steamed vegetables! so quick and easy.
    For one portion you will need:
    20g natural peanut butter
    1 tsp date sirup (or any other liquid sweetener)
    1 to 1 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
    seasonings of choice (I always use black pepper, curry-, paprika-, garlicpowder, chiliflakes)
    50g rice noodles
    left over cooked vegetables (I really like onion, bellpepper, carrots and zucchini in this recipe)

    First mix together peanutbutter, seasonings and soysauce. The mixture gets quite thick so add a few tbsp of hot water and stir until it gets a creamy consistency. Set aside and prepare your rice noodles according to the package. When the noodles are cooked through mix them together with the sauce and the veggies and serve. I also like to top my noodles with crushed peanuts or pumpkin seeds. So yummy!
