  • I’m vegetarian, not vegan but I’ll order the salad and ask for no chicken, hamburger crumble, steak, etc. whatever meat is in the salad. They’ll usually knock down the price since I’m getting it with no meat. Some fast food places will knock off 25 cents, others will knock off $2.00. And they’ll usually give me more veggies instead.

  • I’m still in high school and live with my parents so every time I try to go vegan or pescatarian they purposefully won’t buy things that work. I’m lactose intolerant and almost everything I eat makes me feel so sick. I was able to raw for three days and I felt amazing.

  • This is one of reasons I rarely eat out, especially fast food. I’m not going to order a naked baked potato, a plain side salad and then be charged $5.00 +. Not gonna happen! I can have all that at home and still have a far more delicious meal for a fraction of the cost. I don’t trust fast food restaurants to be truthful. I have boycotted McDonald’s for 20 years bc they lied to vegan customers about what oil their french fries were cooked in. They SAID it was vegetable oil when in fact, it was lard! YUCK!!! Boo on you McD’s! And BTW, McDonald’s said their French fries are no longer made using lard, which they withheld that info from vegans. They are STILL lying! The fries are made using vegetable oil but, the seasoning they use on them has an animal based ingredient. You can do whatever you like…..I’m boycotting McD’s for the rest of my life. I don’t care if they have menu items that are vegan. When a company bald-face lies that their fries are vegan when they aren’t, how can I trust that they are now telling the “truth”? I can’t, because they are STILL LYING!!!!!

  • Chronic candida was also present in everyone tested for schizophrenia too. I had this fungus caused by antibiotics, too much sugar and stress. Symptoms of candida: bad depression and anxiety, white coating on the tongue, skin rashes, athletes foot and toe nail fungus, bad breath, leaky gut, hayfever, sugar and dairy cravings, many turn int alcoholics because of depression and sugar cravings. I too experience strange things like words popping into my head i was not thinking and the same song playing over and over in my head all night and sometimes day too, when i treated candida it went away, weired!

  • I have mostly given up wheat the other day I hat some flour tortillas seams every time I do wheat..tired and shaky there is another suspect for that so I cannot be sure…it is Kratom that I use for anxiety is also binds with opiate receptors so that may be the problem

  • Wheat free and sugar free for 15 days. My face has lost that inflated look of a ballon. Finally I’m able to see my face slimming down.
    Knee and back pains have diminished and I can run down a staircase with so much ease.

  • here’s another fast food vegan option! i work at domino’s pizza(ironically), and our crunchy thin crust is vegan! you can get that with regular pizza sauce in any size expect XL(ask for no cheese). the sauce has such a nice flavour you won’t even miss the cheese, load it with veggies and you’re good to go!

  • I wonder if these people that say we spray glyphosate all over the wheat realized what they are saying. I live right smack in the middle of kansas and farm wheat. Wheat is all around my house and have grown it since i could drive a tractor.. But ive NEVER seen anyone spray glyphosate on their wheat. Glyphosate kills EVERYTHING except genetically modified beans corn and a few other crops. So whyyyyy in the hell would you spray glyphosate on your crop!? Do they realize it would KILL the wheat!? Yeah theres is a very small part of wheat farming in the Dakotas where their growing season is so short they have killed it right before it ripens to speed up harvest but i dont even think its even a very popular practice. Like rare! Our wheat never gets anything sprayed on it other than liquid fertilizer. Not saying I dont agree with the whole grains and gluten deal but the glyphosate on wheat is silly..

  • Great video but luckily there have been some updates to a lot of chains menus. A lot of restaurants have since started making vegan and vegetarian options like Burger King, Carl’s Junior, Del Taco and Chick Fil A.
    All have decent vegetarian options. I find as far as eating vegetarian goes sticking with Mexican restaurants usually allows me to get a lot of flavor, nutrition and variety while still sticking to the eating requirements I have.

  • I wanted to like Magic Spoon but honestly it tasted terrible. The crunch was to hard and even if left for 30 min (yea i tried) your left with a feeling of eating legos. Seriously harsh.   • Hey guys as someone who works at McDonald’s ask for the cooks to change their gloves because most the time they don’t change it and the fried onions are cooked in the same vat as the meat. So be warned.

  • I’d rather eat a banana to tide me over than any of that junk. Meat is so bad, especially processed, cancer causing. Why fast if you’re just going to then eat that.

  • Wonderful presentation, only note that Dr. Davis did this presentation in 2012. It is now established by many medical journals and doctors that gluten (a sticky protein) can bypass your gut and and present you with leaky gut that causes havoc. Yes, do enjoy your garden. Watch out for nightshades though. Peel and deseed your tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squashes and avoid potatoes. You can pressure pot your tomatoes to use in salsas. I peel my tomatoes by boiling water and adding raw tomatoes for about 30 seconds then adding to a wonderful dark green salad. Soak beans and other legumes. Change water about three times then pressure pot them. Most lectins are destroyed this way. If interested check out Dr. Gundry’s books.

  • During the first two years of being vegan I ate from a few of these places except McDonalds. Overtime these foods nearly killed me. Much of this food is processed. I had to go thru a healing process..these foods wrecked havoc on my gut. So, I am now preparing all my meals fresh from scratch. Research all ingredients in these processed foods and you would be blown away!

  • Panera now has a vegan filter on their website menu so you can see there are a couple soups, sandwiches and salads to choose from. A big improvement from before!

  • It’s funny that she mentions sugar so much but never mentions fat. Like that peanut butter spread. Jeez. Remember fat is the most energy dense macromolecule at 9cal/g making it more than twice the cal/g than protein and carbohydrates. That’s really what you want to be weary of.

  • I think it is a matter of location.
    In India, the McDonald’s there is divided into two sections: the vegan/vegetarian/plant based side and the meat (chicken) side.
    In Puerto Rico, Burger King sells 10 piece chicken with tostones.
    Over here where I live, Burger King sells veggie/vegan burgers. (Although the fries weren’t that good the burger was really good)

    Overall, the best way to find out wether or not is to go out there yourselves and find out.
    I was so so surprised when they had a veggie burger in Burger King it felt surreal

  • Just because a bunch of pigs on a farm have MRSA and the people who work with them do, too, doesn’t mean that if the pork from those pigs is ingested by humans that people will contract that virus, nor does it mean that you’ll develop resistance to the antibiotics that they receive. Surely, there must be one or more objective study out there that makes the connection that you hypothesize.

  • I have no kitchen and have to eat out instead. In order to keep the cost down I find supermarkets that have hot food sections. I get semi-home cooked meals for less than half of what eating out costs. I can have a roasted turkey dinner for the same price as a burger and fries at a fast food place. Metropolitan market is my go-to on a daily basis.

  • Coming from a farmer family we have been growing wheat for hundred of years and also been eating too all our lives. We don’t have any allergies, cancer, or any other health issues at all..We are not fat! maybe we don’t use any chemical spray on our food but then I visit America. I learned most of food in America is so bad and unhealthy. And also first time I ever heard “Gluten Free” food. So problem is not a wheat but chemicals you spray and genetic food.

    This is not the first and certainly not the last food that some people have problem with!!!

  • All I know is that when I have quit grains, I have became much prettuer. My face have became much more beautiful and skinny. And I are healthy, whole grains, gluten free grains as well!

  • Sometimes just removing gluten is not a cure all as a leaky gut and low vitamin levels is a huge possibility as we are all deficient in magnesium, selenium, iodine. Vit D in the UK is another one! Many may feel not all symptoms go away and fatigue, allergies like hayfever and arthritis pain is due to a leaky gut so L -Glutamine for 2 months will heal a leaky gut and bone broth too! Dr Sircus has great info on why we need to take magnesium, selenium and iodine and even bicarbonate of soda.

  • Hi Katie! I have a pretty severe gluten allergy. Sweetgreen, Tasty Burger and B.Good are also good options for us GF people. Their food is great and I don’t get sick when eating at those places. If you find yourself near one of those chains and you haven’t tried them yet, you should.

  • Taco Bell Power Bowl veggie HOLD: cheese, sour cream and avocado ranch but keep fresco and guacamole. I get this all the time and LOVE it. It’s my GO TO fast food plant based meal that’s FILLING. I always get 2.

  • I’m gluten free & dairy free (celiac), can’t eat soy products… and I don’t eat meat. Sooooo, you pack a cooler full of things you’ve prepared when you go on vacation. As for travelling to other cities, I’m taking my chances. The best places to shop when I was abroad were grocery stores. Health food stores didn’t even have much. I pretty much forget eating out.

  • The apple pie at McDonald’s is vegan. Which goes great with coffee. Breakfast idea tip. But, their fries are not vegan. Other pies in the market that are vegan are Sara Lee’s frozen apple pie and Krispy Kremes cherry pie. Burger Kings fries is the only vegan food they have.

  • The only one of these 5 places you mentioned near me is Red Robin. There is a Chipotle in Boston but I live 45 mins away and don’t have a car. We have a Moe’s.

  • Right around the 5 minute mark he mentions EINKORN, an ancient wheat. Coincidentally, I recently came across a company named Jovial Foods that has reintroduced that wheat in their products. I am not interested in trying it since I have been on a Keto diet and OMAD for a few years.

    I may try a carnivore diet soon and see how I feel on that. We have gotten so far away from our ancestral diets that it’s no wonder so many are fat and sick. BTW, this doctor doesn’t look all that healthy to me. But just my opinion. Interesting presentation nonetheless.

  • pretty often they are preparing their gluten free options using the same utensils, oils, counters, bowls, etc that have touched their other products. those suffering from celiac disease really need that extra step and care in preparation.

  • I notice right off that this man has a double chin and a sweaty pale complexion. I’m trying to keep an open mind but I can not find a talk he gives where he has anyone to debate his claims. All the claims within the comments of better digestion, BP, cholesterol, blood sugar and weight loss I have obtained eating plant based with huge amounts of wheat and grains of all kinds including white bread, white rice and pasta. The Doctors promoting plant based eating do not agree on every detail but they show up in forums and site study and evidence. Doctor Mcdoogle, Joel Fuhrman, and many others are lean and fit. I would like to see this guy sell his theory with his shirt off. LOL

  • I had a pyeloplasty, basically an operation because of hydronephrosis of my right kidney…urether was too narrow. Both my kindeys are working fine after surgery. But scared of Stones.

  • Going gluten free appetite has reduced or should I say ‘returned to normal’ and I was a compulsive eater,
    Skin is smooth, hands with arthritis feel better. Yes I am having cornflours etc and gluten free bread and pasta but at least I am not having wheat.

  • It is weird seeing this now. With in last two years there are so much vegan and vegetarian options coming to fast food. From Taco Bell to Burger King. Even Panda Express is trying more plant based options. I’m excited to see what will change in a year from now.

  • There is no such thing as a “vegan” fast food restaurant. In FACT, any restaurant that serves anything but NON-organic plant based food is not vegan. This comes from my 15 years of working in kitchens. Eventually, EVERYTHING gets cross contaminated in some way with meat and/or dairy products. Guaranteed. So if a restaurant serves meat it cannot be vegan, vegetarian options perhaps at best, but not vegan. i don’t care what dieticians or doctors say. The FDA does not care and will work on shutting down natural farmers and their meats, dairy, fruits and vegetables. Shop, support and buy from local farms, filter your own water.   • Dr Essystyn was a cardiac surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic and he began treating his patients with a high carb low fat diet and it was successful…..more so than by pass surgery. The Cleveland Clinic is the number 1 heart clinic in the world and they use a high carb diet…..not a bad recommendation.

  • Anecdotes don’t make science or medicine!!! I had shoulder pain same as anybody else and it went away without medicine only with time!! I cut out nothing in my diet, lost no wt and even gained some wt, and I never whined and never read others’ stories!!! Just plain old resting the inflamed joint and allowing it to heal naturally.
    People nowadays have no patience and no faith in their own body or in themselves and want a straw to cling on to say it saved them!! They want a quick fix!!!What a time we’re living in!!!!

  • I eat whole wheat all the time, at least daily and I’m 73. I’m on a whole food plant-based diet and I look a helluva lot better than this pudgy doctor does. I think he’s promoting BS to make money without any real evidence or even good reasoning.

  • Chick-fil-a has grilled nuggets and gluten free waffle fries! When you tell the cashier they will flag your order as gluten free so there is no cross contamination!

  • Let me tell you something people. I stopped eating all refined wheat products (white flour) and white foods ( rice) for one week and I lost 12 lbs. It is very addicting and inflammatory. It is in cereal, cookies, zucchini breads, fig newtons, croutons, bread crumbs, doughnuts, scones, pies, cakes, muffins, sandwiches, etc. You get the picture? It is in almost everything!!! Combine that with what they do to fatten up animals for slaughter, is it any wonder why so many people are fat?

At 76, I lost 20 pounds in 2 months and am aiming for lots more. But I was wondering if your plan could have a impact on periodontal disease which is causing me to have 6 mm pockets in some of my rear teeth. I had surgery on them 25 years ago, and don’t look forward too a replay.

    I realize that lowering sugars must help, but is there any other thing in your plan that might me. Thanks a lot.

FYI, for anyone concerned with the inflammatory effect of grain products you may be interested to know that our immunizations have two forms of aluminum and mercury in the form of thimerosal as adjuvants. Each of these substances are neurotoxins. Pharmaceutical companies stirred these substancesq into the broth to cause an inflammatory response at the time of immunization. The purpose of creating an inflammatory response is their belief that it provides a greater immunity from the viral fragments in the immunization. The amount of virus present in each immunization can differ a great deal. The basis or result of auto immune disorders is inflammation. My daughter had respiratory distress after her first flu shot then spent the day in the emergency department receiving IV steroids, Benadryl, IV epinephrine and inhalation therapy. She now has asthma. She also has MTHFR gene defect & cannot metabolize folate and other B vitamins. Synthetic B vitamins are in every enriched grain product.

  • I started the ketogenic diet 1.5 years ago, which means no wheat or any other grains. I have no more back or knee pain (after years of chronic pain, and thousands of $ spent on chiropractic care). I sleep MUCH better. I lost 15 pounds of belly fat, effortlessly. I don’t even car about calories. I eat as much as I want.

  • I just stumble on this article, and i also thought like this Dr, but learn that its not wheat what is the problem, but first of all its instant yeast,and high fructose corn syrup. Again i am writing this on my own experience i did on my own body. I came from Europe in 1994 and at that time i was 30 year old and my weight was only 110 lb and my height is 5’9. In first 6 months i gain so much weight eating how i was eating back in home. My weight went up to 164lb. I tried diet high protein low carbs, nothing, ate lots of veggies not so much fruit still couldnt lose weight. Also i need to add i do not exercise in gym, i am not big fan of gyms. I love my garden i do my home work cleaning house work. But after i learn about HFCS that this could be a problem i start buying things what had no HFCS in it. My weight went down to 125 lb only in 1 year. I do eat now bread and pasta and everything what does not have corn syrup. I bake my own sourdough bread and bake once a week some sweets but here in USA sugar is used way too much in baking sweets. I dont have any health issues and now i am 55 year old. I am going through hormonal changes, but i am still 130lb.My grand daughter 3 year old love sourdough bread and no complaints there. What i believe from my own experience that wheat as i first thought was the enemy for me its acctually not
