Judge Reed C. O’Connor struck down the law, siding with a group of 18 Republican state attorneys general and two GOP governors who brought the case. O’Connor said the tax bill passed by Congress last December effectively rendered the entire health law unconstitutional. The case is not expected to have an immediate effect on coverage for people who buy plans on the federal health law marketplaces because the case is likely to go to the Supreme Court — the third time that the justices will decide the fate of the landmark health law. • Judge Charles Reed O’Connor is committing murder by virtue of his anti Affordable Care Act ruling. And I bet you this federal judge is a church going evangelical “god fearing” christian.

  • This is great. I had a good plan before Obamacare and then when it happened my premiums went through the roof. I was forced to pay or be taxed (punished) heavily. And no, I’m not rich, I’m 28 living paycheck to paycheck. 10,000 out of pocket before my benefits insurance kicked in not including my $400 from every paycheck.Often times I had to choose between eating or paying my monthly premium.

  • So mandatory care for people is unconstitutional but auto insurance is a law. Huh? I guess our cars are more important than our people. I wonder how different things would be if we could vote to take away every politician’s healthcare.

  • 8 out of 10 of the poorest states are red. Poor rural republicans benefited more from the ACA than any other group. I guess those coal miners in West Virginia and Kentucky who are receiving treatment for black lung disease under the ACA, are out of luck.

  • There is no solution to the rising cost of health care because none of the players(drug companies, hospitals, doctors, insurance companies) will ever control their cost much less lower them under a free market system that allows them to charge what ever they want.I’m not for the government controlling anything, just think it’s time we stop kidding ourselves-this is not a fixable problem because all the players are vultures that only care about themselves.

  • Barry’s not worried; he’s cool, cool. He and his cohort are currently roasting S’mores in front of the fireplace in his new Martha’s Vineyard estate, and reading from Mao’s Little Red Book.

  • These are the same people that passed legislation that guarantees themselves health care, right? But they want to take it away from everybody else.

  • This is sad af he needs to get impeached what point is there in having democrats and Republican if he does what the hell he wants im affected by this!!! LIKE IF YOU AGREE

  • Now 10% of Americans have no healthcare. 25 million people.
    But then again,
First they came for the immigrants and we said nothing because we were not immigrants. Then they came for the for the poor, and we said nothing because we were not poor.

People got what they voted for. Few Republicans liked Obamacare, although many depend on the ACA and had no idea that the two were one and the same.

  • Great news! It IS unconstitutional. Next up? Social security! Give your kids and their kids and their kids 6.25% more pay for the rest of their life. A bunch of ponsi schemes. Get rid of all of them!

  • The ACA was ruined from the start in my state. These dumb bastards didnt include the medicare expand. Maybe the weed indusrtry could funnel in money like the oil indusry. Legalization is the only thing is passing in states. I really think we are headed in a bad place. Putin wanted it and he is getting it.

  • Well, at least we can all take comfort in knowing the fact that republicans/Drumpf-supporters will die off first as a result of not having healthcare.

  • How is it possible that the United States of America is just so damn stupid. To not have Health Care for all is outrageous, and get a clue Trumptards it actually costs more when people go to the ER for things a GP should handle. People don’t have to pay for the ER, but they have to be treated.

  • Thank dear baby Jesus, we are free from low cost Health Care. Now we can choose any Health Care, as long as we don’t have pre-existing conditions. Way to go Texas!

  • Yeah and people will just flood the ER room in their local hospitals with every ailment under the sun and not pay the bill. The Republicans are clueless. They think it’s not going to affect their quality of life.LOL!It’s going to make EVERYONES life VERY uncomfortable.Just a heads up to all you RN’s, doctors and hospital employees and the rest of the American citizens…..Its trumps fault.

  • The right wing are in so much trouble because america is actually a lefty nation. They need to do what they do in Fiji one vote one person bring in referrendums and let the people vote on these things then you will see how left wing america really is!

  • Unfortunately, rates are now permanently set higher as a result of several years of ACA. Am not sure that the damage will be reversed.

  • When i hear pre existing conditions, I think of the Spartans and how they had the right idea chuckin ill formed or weak offspring. I feel we need to go back to that.

  • I am a conservative Canadian who lived in the US Midwest for many years and I’ve had experience with the health care systems of both countries. One of the enduring  mysteries of my years in the US is why Americans, in contrast to citizens of every other developed country, fail to see health care a right, one that their government is best suited to provide: like policing, public education, fire service and the military. As a consequence, Americans spent 50% more per person on healthcare than Canadians with worse outcomes higher infant mortality, lower life expectancy, more chronic illness and, of course personal bankruptcies. It just seems crazy.

  • Finally, a Texas judge rules on something that millions of Americans already knew was unconstitutional the minute it was signed. If the people of this country wasn’t so divided and scared they could have risen up and refused to participate in this extortion and the government would have had no choice but to abandon it, but everyone has gotten used to being bent over and rammed by the government and most seem to be fine with it.

  • If any of the people who blindly supported/still support Trump lose their health insurance, become ill or injured and lose everything? Fuck you. Pain and loss is a great teacher. The price for your blind ignorance is very steep, so I hope it destroys you. You voted for Trump, you eat the shit pile. According to a Harvard Univ study, as well as others, the leading cause of bankruptcy in America is UNPAID MEDICAL BILLS and 75% of those who filed HAD health insurance at the time of filing. So President Obama tried to help attenuate the crisis and all because of blind ignorance and bigotry towards this man, they sought to undo the Affordable Care Act and just about everything else he’s done. And they don’t even have the decency to have a replacement before repealing it. So suffer, you ignorant mouth-breathing fucks.

  • Affordable care act explained: Everyone gets the same Rotten Cheese. If you make a lot of money you pay more and get the same Rotten cheese. If you cross the border you get the same Rotten Cheese for free. If you are poor you pay less but get the same Rotten Cheese.

  • People should strike right in front of his own house the Republican Party think this is going to make it better for them in the next election they have a rude awakening

  • No longer illegal to not have health insurance Need real healthcare, people should actually read what all is in the ACA, they would be shocked. It needs serious overhaul

  • I think Federal Judges should not have the power to revoke or even question for that matter laws that have passed in Congress and Senate. Not to the right, and not to the left. This phenomenon of judges legislating from the bench is totally wrong and dangerous to America is a country of the rule of law. Only the Supreme Court has the authority to cancel laws that were approved by both Congress and Senate, and even there it should be just in extreme situations.
