Oxytocin, often dubbed the “love hormone,” is known to promote social bonding. Researchers at KU Leuven have now discovered that administering oxytocin to adult men with autism makes them more open. The “love hormone” could improve treatment for children with autism, according to a new study.

Researchers from Yale University found that, when administered as a nasal spray, oxytocin enhanced. Children with autism who received the hormone oxytocin via a squirt in the nose exhibited more activity in brain regions associated with the processing of social information, according to a small. • You say it’s much lower on women, but isn’t that because science hasn’t yet been adjusted to spot autism in women at an early age? Most women are diagnosed later in life, and mostly after a lot of other misdiagnoses, or after finding out that their children are in the spectrum. Maybe I am biased here, but most of the tests for ASD are clearly meant to measure ASD in young boys, so can we truly say that it is so rare in women?

  • In itself more knowledge is always a good thing, but in the world we live now, prenatal screening for autism, or likelihood of autism, (or any other condition or trait considered undesirable for that matter) will only lead to prenatal violence inflicted upon members of those groups. In the U.S. fetal humans with Down Syndrome have a 67% chance of being aborted. Iceland boasts of having “eradicated” Down Syndrome (by exterminating virtually everyone who has it). We need to keep learning, but we must also change the way we treat the most vulnerable members of our species.

  • Great video! Thanks for taking the time to put together a quality, relevant video with legitimate evidence, I’ve been doing a lot of research on this hormone and just couldn’t find the answers/discussion I was looking for until I saw this:)

  • you should go into synchrotism and understand the spirotual consequencies of retention of ejaculation to the male body and the calibration of the dopamine oxytocine and seratonine
for that matter the physical mental emotional and espirtual health of the couple as to be as its best to be able to came into sacred union of the self

  • My partner said they might be on the asd scale and they haven’t checked it out but they said they have the symptoms. They also said that they’re not too worried about it either, and I don’t want them to be worried about it either and I said I’d love them no matter what. My parents don’t believe much in mental health issues because we are both crazy and maybe dark. But anyway, I might’ve done something wrong and they’ve been distant and not talkative. I really really love them and I want us to be together so this really helped!

  • Wow your video quality is amazing! Both the content and technicalities. I wanna mimic you. Which camera and editing software do you use? Plz answer.

  • 3:17 I love it when a licensed psychologist uses the word “crazy.” What a sensitive, thoughtful professional.

“Dr. Kathy” is a quack and a shill who just wants to sell books and her horrible paid membership site. She is not transparent about her practices and silences honest skeptics who ask legitimate questions about her practice. Google her and and then stay far away.

  • Hey man I just wanted to say your videos are awesome and I am a recent subscriber, keep up the good work. I’m also thinking about starting a fun YouTube channel and I was just wandering what kind of camera you use because it has really great quality?

  • Very understandable and an interesting subject.    Looking forward to next week.  Many women have stories of doctors treating “women troubles” in….how do you say it……”differently”  than they would if a male had the same complaint.  Many generations of women can attest to this.  I could go on, but better not..  Just wanted to say that I thought this video was like 3 minutes, and was surprised to see how much time actually passed while I watched it.  Hmmm….maybe sometime you can do a video about the time/space continuum.  I know it’s not physiology, but it’s interesting nonetheless.   Another topic I would love to see more info on is genetics, especially with the almost insane push to get you to pay to get your DNA analyzed so that the testing company can use your genetic material for future research.  Some would applaud this as a smart business model, while others fear the worst will happen if “they” get access to your DNA.

  • It. Is. HORRIBLE! The daily insults and the way one is treated, stomped upon, stalked and disrespected, my stories would be long had I even attempted to explain. Autistic people are EVIL.

  • Thanks to everyone who is taking their time to read this testimony on how my son was cured from Autism, he was diagnosed four years ago, and he is now 6, I have tried several treatments and medications on him, nothing is working out and I am so frustrated. I keep praying to God and finally God answered my prayers, someone from no where walk to me and told me he want to tell me about this doctor he has knew for years now from his own country, after everything I took the contact of the doctor and called and I was so surprised it was a female and I explained my son condition to her, she asked for my home address and the next day I got a tracking number or a parcel sent to me through dhl from Doctor Stella, after four days I received the parcel, I opened and found a liquid herbal medicine and some herbal medicine grinded and I found a letter containing the instructions on how to use this medicine, I called her and thank her so much and she told me we should thank God for everything, the next morning I started giving my son the medicines and after one week I was seeing a great changes in him and I continue until the medicine finish and everything last for just one month and a week, now my son is free from Autism, he can now talk clearly, behave normal and no seizures anymore. Help me thank Doc Stella for this and you can also connect with her on [email protected] gmail.com and [email protected] yahoo.com WhatsApp number is +2348157471852.

  • Actually, Autism is more common in girls than is reported. Female brains just handle Autism differently so the traits of females on the spectrum show themselves in different ways that may appear less pronounced or fail to show up at all on a screening test that wasn’t designed for use on girls.

  • Saw a documentary about the influence of plastic on hormonal changes on fish, ending with a general warning about the estrogen like effects plastic has on living creatures…that was years ago. Is there a correlation between this age of plastic we live in and autisme?

  • This is a very biased video a very very biased video. What is the speaker doing on this video if by her own admitance she’s not an expert on the subject of autism???

  • But… Autism also expresses itself in cis women differently than in cis men. That’s probably why the diagnoses between the genders is different.

  • I’m not gonna lie. It can be tough. It takes time, patience and understanding on both ends. There’s going to be bumps, big and small, like there is in any relationship, but if you’re in love and you feel like you are ready to dedicate yourself to a special someone on the spectrum, then do it! My autistic significant other and I have grown and learned so much from each other, and I wouldn’t give up that experience for the world. The key is communication, empathy and honesty. Best wishes to everyone who has taken the initiative to research this topic! ❤️

  • My boyfriend and I are both autistic. I met him on Twitter and we have a relationship outside Twitter. 2 autistics a perfect match 2 neurotypicals are a perfect match. Neurotypical and autistic couple is a 50/50 chance that the relationship will work out. There are communication differences between neurotypical and autistic couples it has to be a equal relationship to even work out.

  • lately my wife stay glued to her phone, she doesn’t give me attentions like she used to, I kept thinking if I’ve became ugly already, but the answer was and still NO. During my search, i found a post when a lady was showering praises on a man called TONY who helped her out, quickly I jumped on the way to contact him and it was through his gmail [email protected] OR WhatsApp +1 330-271-6380. I was shook and overwhelmed that I could read her texts, see pictures, emails and all that after he completed my job. I am pleased to tell you people about him

  • ohhh led to this channel from Reddit post tonight and now binge watching! So good! As a nurse, I have had Oxytocin compounded by the pharmacy we use for the office into Sublingual tablets for ‘good nights’ lol no complaints from the office staff who has tried them: )

  • Just wondering if girls with autism are more likely to have polysistic overies? I know two lovely, intelligent and very talented girls like this, so I am wondering if there might be a connection with estrogen and might help them some how, thanks.

  • I’m a single mom with a 7 year old son on the spectrum and two neurotypical older girls. It’s so consuming, isolating and difficult. I am also wondering if I’m on the spectrum for various reasons. Thank you!

  • Holy hell. I’m on the spectrum myself, i’m drunk as anything… & even I say this woman’s got it fugured out. Often I figure something is wrong with me. The over thinking, Social norms, and overwhelming stigma from everybody that I speak to has led me to believe i’m an outcast. (wich may be true in most regaurds.) but, “those who feel it know it most”.

What can I say. There is no one solution. Just know we as an “autistic” group of individuals have a very difficult mindset that resignate with how we feel entirely! It’s almost as if we exist on another plain of exsistance; and yet live with others who don’t feel the same way.

Drink an entire half liter of vodka, & or smoke some dmt i’d wager your perception has been… Modified. Sorry, but that’s my rant. Hop. U enjoyed!

  • When I see my crush and talk to her, the love hormone start to kick in my body and it feels so good like I’m so high and happy but after a couple of hours of leaving, I start to experience withdrawl symptoms like depression and sadness.. It really sucks.

  • I’m on the spectrum (male/high functioning) and I can say that relationships for me are incredibly hard. So hard that there’s a high chance that I’ll have a breakdown if I am attached to that person. The emotional confusion, the possessiveness, the emotional roller coasters, the moodiness and sensory overload that I feel to the point where just thinking about kissing my spouse causes me to be angry. The inability to allow myself to feel good that my spouse can have an opinion that doesn’t correlate to mine. The list just goes on and on.
Within my relationship, I am completely focused upon myself, and I feel guilt also because I know I should be different, but my neurology hasn’t allowed it YET. Anyone on the spectrum who’s reading this and is successfully living within the boundaries of a healthy relationship, I commend you.

  • Guys with autism never find love because ALL girls hate them, basically all women are the same because they all hate autistic guys like myself, never had anyone, & I know I never will, anyone who tells me that I would find love is just an absolute moron talking shit

  • This is a really interesting video. However, you said that autism is more common in boys, which may not be true. It is true that autism is more commonly diagnosed in boys, but there could be other factors at play. Most studies of autism have been on autistic boys, so we’ve ignored autistic women when studying autism. In addition, the women who have been diagnosed with autism often have learned more techniques for “masking” their autism than boys of a similar age. And finally, the idea that women can’t be autistic could be a self-fulfilling prophecy, as doctors may overlook the possibility of autism in girls.

  • As a demigirl-identifying biosex female who finally got an ASD diagnosis after decades of struggle, this video makes a weird amount of sense.

  • Ha ha, many scientific sounding dudes here pretend that there are as many autistic girls than there are boys and that the only difference between the two is that the girls are better at hiding it than boys… ha ha, why don’t you call us hypocrites while you’re at it. EVERY health official in the world knows that it’s a mainly a boy disease so nice try guys but you need to backup your claims, this is a science channel, not a mental hospital. Good news though, testosterone seems to be linked to the development of autism so by lowering the androgen levels using a blocker you could dramatically reduce autism incidence in boys. Check it out, this is still very controversial though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT2enTN5Nqo&list=PLp425_Ad-xiLwKdw-OcRk3WGV8BhMilTo&index=2&t

  • It’s not less prevalent in women, it’s under diagnosed and under studied. There’s a big difference. I trust sci show a lot, and watch it religiously, please fix this

  • Autism in females present so differently due to, what we think is, “masking”. It’s where girls with autism copy the behavior of their female peers. This is also why girls are more likely to be diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, a disorders where your primary symptom is having no real identity. So growing up with copying others will lead to identity issues.

  • When you said researchers are not trying to find a way to prevent autism, that makes me think. I have autism and graduated first in my class with a full scholarship to the uni of my choice, and these stories aren’t uncommon. So there’s clearly some benefits autism can confer…. but thinking of the drawbacks in my own life would I sacrifice the positives autism has given me to spare myself the negatives? Hard to say. Probably? Who would I even be if I were that different? It’s going to be really interesting when we know more about autism, for sure. How do you define a mental disability that can make you smart? It’s bizarre. The brain, man. Wild.

  • Strange how little views some of your videos get, while being so great in quality. Keep making these, they’re really good. Subscribed.

  • I’m not one to go against the research done by Sci show but I don’t believe that boys have Autism more often then girls. Girl’s are just better at hiding it. I do believe that sex does affect Autism, just that scientist need to know what they’re looking for in girls. For example boys are more interested in mechanics and movement where girls are more interested in social situations in very lose terms. The boys may become anti-social and shy away from people where girls might take more an interest in social situations and their “hobby” isn’t cars or trains but people and their super brains pick up patterns and copy what the popular girls are doing and “fake it till you make it” even if they don’t understand the social situation.

  • My daughter has autism spectrum 1. My wife had severe endometriosis that required a full hysterectomy after she was born. Are we alone in this situation? Perhaps studies should include the issues caused by endometriosis during pregnancy.

  • as an autistic person I’m rlly disappointed in this video. this theory has gotten a ton of criticism and you shouldn’t be reporting it as if it is so likely to be true. I am not criticizing your reporting of correlation between estrogen and autism, but the extreme male brain theory is ridiculous. I would also like to know how they corrected for under diagnosis in afab people that they found that there are 3x more amab autistics than afab autistics. a really disappointing video that really hurt me as this channel is generally a place where I find light-hearted entertainment that suits my special interests.
