Chocolate equals love Speaking of love, the association might not be completely physiological. Women crave chocolate more often than men do. Women are also habitually given chocolate as birthday and Valentine’s Day presents. In our culture, chocolate is thought of as a.

It may seem simple we like chocolate because it tastes nice. But there’s more to it than that and it relates to a fat/carbohydrates balance that is. We love chocolate so much that we think eating it every day is not only acceptable, but a great idea. Chocolate makes us happy in so many ways, but it also does so much more. It can help calm us down, help us bond with people, and help us feel sophisticated (because yes, sometimes we need to create that illusion).

In our culture, chocolate is thought of as a romantic gift. It’s outside the realm of mundane, day-to-day food, reserved for special occasions–and, for women especially, it’s associated with love and romance. That could be another reason why women particularly love chocolate: deep down, it makes them feel loved, cared for, and pampered. 3.

While many plant-based foods can make you feel happy, Thirlwell tells Elite Daily that chocolate in particular promotes the brain chemistry of being in love. A: Chocolate lovers, rejoice but be savvy about chocolate’s health perks. Chocolate really can be good for you, but not all chocolate is created equally. If you’re after health benefits, forget. Chocolate Is a Stress Reliever.

PIN IT. Melissa Miller. Because dopamine is released into your brain when you eat chocolate, it can actually lower your levels of stress. This is why people often crave chocolate in stressful situations, or crave it when they are in need of comfort or reassurance.

It’s why there is a food holiday dedicated to this single cake January 27th, in case you want to celebrate with a chocolate cake, which you obviously should. And it’s why we wrote this food a love letter today (and not one for our spouses). Most people are extremely fond of, and crave chocolate for the simple reason that consuming it releases feel good chemicals (endorphins), dopamine and serotonin in the brain. This is what makes chocolate irresistible and gets you addicted to it.

  • I don’t know if this is true but I read a Nat Geo report that coca plants (The plants that make chocolate) are slowly running out and it’ll reach a peak by 2050.

  • So what you are saying is that my pleasure circuits are wonky since I can just keep eating tasty things (though I don’t generally eat things as fast as I can)

  • Depends what chocolate. Cadbury, Hershey’s and Mars comes with initial pleasure before the pain. Zachary’s and Palmer’s is always pain. Fool me once.

  • This episode is a great metaphor for what’s happening at the border. A few illegals asking for asylum is one thing, but once everyone in Central America and the World knows it might get you in…THEY COME HERE LIKE A FLOOD!
Then you have the Democrats criticizing ICE for not being able to catch up while doing nothing to slow it down…while encouraging that ILLEGALS SPEED UP and get here!
    Yo soy Latino…VIVA TRUMP!

  • The speed with which Lucy puts those candies down her blouse makes this even more funny than it already basically is for some reason. I guess because seeing her hand move so fast that it was a blur, there toward the end, is so unexpected; coupled with the fact that it is all so hilarious up to that point anyway, and then that speedy, superhuman arm motion kicked in. And her expressions. And the whole premise of it, and the sympathy the viewer feels for them both. This is one of the funniest scenes in the history of funny.

  • Payed to eat chocolate. Sounds fun.

More seriously I have a really low tolerance to Chocolate, one or two squares and I’ve already had enough and the taste goes from sweet rich and delicious to sour and sticky.

  • Mmm, so glad I’ll be loving some sweet chocolate in a bit. I get what he’s saying about too much of it though, I get a headache when I’ve eaten too much. Chocolate digestives, literally I can only eat two and that’s it, they’re like my kryptonite.

  • My class loved figuring this out, but they respectfully disagree with the findings. They feel the third segment should be one candy less and the 4th segment should be one candy more.

  • Drake and Josh, Family Guy, and even MLP: Friendship is Magic is did scenarios similar to this.

  • I love Steve and Marjorie together A Perfect Couple. I could never be a hater when seeing such true love and admiration for each other.

  • No one in their right mind can eat chocolate in moderation. Chocolate is to be devoured, with a smile. Of course if you want health benefits, only eat chocolate made from pure cacoa. This way you are getting the antioxidant benefits. The higher the number, the better. I usually eat 76. Over that number, it begins to taste like medicine.

  • Eh, what does something related to THC have to do with addiction? It’s pretty well been documented and scientifically proven that THC isn’t addictive, but hey, don’t let the drug war propaganda stop you…
