Egg White Omelets have long been enjoyed by those who want to enjoy omelets without as much fat or cholesterol. Egg whites are low in calories, and they’re packed with tons of nutrition including lots of protein. It makes them a super smart choice for breakfast any day of the week. Whip up This Delicious Spinach and Egg-White Frittata.

How to make STEP 1 Melt butter in 8-inch skillet until sizzling; add bell peppers and onions. Cook over medium heat, stirring STEP 2 Pour liquid egg whites into same pan. Cook over medium-low heat, lifting edge of egg whites and pulling them STEP 3 Sprinkle with bell pepper mixture and 1/4 cup.

Return pan to the stove, and reduce heat to medium*. Add the whisked egg whites and cook for 2-3 minutes until the eggs are set and the bottom of the egg is golden. Remove from heat. Add the onion mixture, diced avocado, cilantro and cotija cheese to the egg white, and fold over to form the omelet. DIRECTIONS Combine green onions and green peppers in a small bowl.

And yet, the egg-white omelet persists. They’re usually cooked one of two equally awful ways: in a nonstick skillet greased only with some nonstick cooking spray, or. Lightly coat a medium skillet with cooking spray. Saute the peppers and scallions until they are tender-crisp. Pour the egg substitute over the vegetables.

When partially set, spread the cheese over 1/2 the eggs, and fold the omelet in half over the filling. The egg-white omelet is a staple breakfast for many healthy eaters, but they’re often rubbery and bland. After several trials, I’ve found that it’s easy to make a flavorful.

Add egg whites to skillet; cook until nearly set, using a flexible heatproof spatula to repeatedly pull in sides of omelet to allow uncooked egg to run underneath, 1 to 2 minutes. Step 3 Sprinkle crumbled goat cheese and prepared salsa over the top. Gently slide omelet onto serving plate, folding it over by tipping skillet slightly. Place a shallow pan under a medium flame and heat 2 table spoons of cooking oil in it. Pour the egg white mixture and let it cook with the lid closed for two minutes.

Note: secret of fluffy omelet lies in the way it forms up on beaten and making sure that the oil is piping hot.

  • 3 big mistakes: 1. He used butter (1/4 of a cup of butter has over 400 calories. 2. He used a metal fork 3. He used a metal spatula. Both destroy stovetop pans.

  • Safe to eat 3 or 4 eggs a day? By whom? One egg has enough cholesterol in it to raise your levels substantially, even if temporary. I’m a diabetic and I rarely eat eggs at all.   • Eggs don’t increase cholesterol and removing yolk is simply a waste. Egg yolks have a high protein content and contain many essential vitamins, like vitamine D, and vitimines B, minerals and fats. It is true that by far by far eggs are the largest sources of dietary cholesterol but the liver produces cholesterol (2000 mg a day) based on the body’s needs and external consumption of cholesterol. So if your daily intake is sufficient, liver will produce less cholesterol. If you want to decrease cholesterol stop eating processed carbs in the first place!

  • Unfortunatly when you throw away the yolks you’re also throwing away 90% of the nutrients in the egg. I personaly would never throw out the yolks as they are some of the most nutritionally dense food on the planet. And it’s quite safe and healthy to eat 3-4 a day.   • it actually taste just the same. when you scramble regular eggs with the yolk, you already lose most of the flavor of the yolk anyways. trust me it’s worth it… ive tried it once and has been eating only egg whites ever since. go buy a carton of egg whites at HEB!! it really doesn’t hurt to trust me on this, it would only make you healthier

  • most of the fat is in the yolk:puts butter into a pan which probably has more fat and less nutrients then an egg yolk: If your going to eat healthy don’t go half way. Id rather make a whole egg with cooking spray then egg whites with butter.

The only reason I find for a person (or at least a sane person) to eat an omelette without egg yolks is to be healthy and avoid fat….but if you are adding that much butter to the omelette then its the same fucking thing than eating a regular omelette, just make a regular omelette with less butter and it will still be a thousand times better than this fucking joke of an omelette

  • You can use an empty water bottle to “suck” the egg-yolks out of the rest of it. Just point, squeeze bottle, release. The egg-yolk should just go in.

  • I like closing my omelet with a 1/4 cup mozzarella. 8oz of egg whites 2oz diced green pepper, 2oz onions, and 2oz diced ham. About 310 calories.

  • You may find this article interesting as far as salt/sodium goes…maybe the guidelines might be right for a sedentary individual who drinks little water and never sweats but they don’t take lifestyle into account.     Oh yeah, unrelated question Remington I’m getting one of my oldest friend back into fitness and he is already a pretty strong guy naturally. He has been in shape before and worked out in the past but kind of lost it all once he get an IT job and has been that way for 4-5 years. He wants to lose about 40 lbs (He’s 6’1, 240) and he’s looking at doing something like StrongLifts 5×5 but is more concerned with aesthetics and fat loss than anything else. I told him there’s got to be a better “beginner’s” approach to this that has more than just the big compound lifts. Any recommendations? Thanks and keep up the great content man.

  • I mean maybe Id use a tablespoon of butter. He uses like 5 tablespoons. Ridding the cholesterol and sat fat from the yolk is the whole point. Adding all that butter defeats the purpose. Its still pretty healthy unless you are already on the path to getting or have CVD already.

    I would never use metal utensils on a cast irin or other type of pan though. Thah shiz is jus mad cray cray

  • Lol what’s the point of making an egg white omelette if you are going to end up sprinkling that much cheese on it. I might as well then add an egg yolk or 2 into it which would make it taste yummier. The whole point of the egg white recipes is to get the fat as close as possible to 0 g.

  • The point of an egg-white omelette is to avoid the cholesterol in the yolk which is really high, however, adding sausage is even worse lol…. sausage is extremely high in nitrates and saturated fats, both bad for your heart… oh, had cholesterol too… the very thing you got rid of in the first place.

  • I’ve never known (having been 1) any real Chef who A has holes in the omelette or B needs a spatula to guide the omelette. If you cook it right, all you need is a fork to mix, fold and remove from the pan.

  • Yes that WOULD be the case if he was using a frying pan in aluminium, stainless steel etc, which is most common today, but he seems to be using a classic cast iron pan, and if you’ve actually done much cooking you would know that using metal forks/spatula etc in cast iron pots and pans is PERFECTLY FINE as long as you don’t scratch it to pieces. There’s a huge difference in this area between cast iron and the modern stuff.

  • Surely eating an egg white omelette has to be the most joyless way to live ever. You might as well just give up eating altogether and live entirely on nutritional supplements. That will taste purely of salt, pepper and hot butter. Just don’t remove the egg yolk and eat a normal omelette instead. There are so many important nutrients in an egg yolk. If you’re genuinely so worried about your weight that one single egg yolk will push you over the edge eat a salad or some steamed veg instead; this is full of butter anyway. I will never eat such a completely pointless dish in my life.
