Green spaces within cities are often considered too small and isolated from one another to sustain viable species populations (Goddard et al. 2010), requiring a collaborative effort on the part of different stakeholders to redress the lack of connectivity (Davies et al. 2009; Dearborn and Kark 2010).

  • If in Singapore there is land scarcity and practicing farming in large scale on a normal basis is really a challenge, my question is then where are the animals and how do they sustain life for them? I’m an urban planner student at the University of Johannesburg and your response will change my perspective and improve my knowledge.

  • The administration of Singapore’s government is very committed on serving its people that corruption in general is an unknown idiom to them. That’s why, despite of their inadequacy as an island state and pertaining of mineral resources, land usage footprint and the imminent population growth, do not hamper their development operations. Notwithstanding the multi-cultural presence, they still act as one single unit in the preservation and protection of its people through advance technological, biological and cultural aspects. Kudos to the government and the people of Singapore! Unlike my country Philippines, the biggest thieves are the ones who are supposed to help the people, the ones who wears elegant clothing to be called honorable with their long standing entourages, the ones who like to be called by their position and affiliation. Needless to say, we have much more mineral resources in general to exploit upon. And what more shamefully embarrassing is that this has been going on for decades now. Tsk tsk..

  • We are so insanely behind in the West. I don’t know any other country doing anything like this, let alone even thinking further than it’s next elections.

  • You cannot compare Singapore with other countries. For example India is a country of 1200 million. China is a country of 1400 million. Singapore is a country of 5 million people. In china they have 1400 million people so they want employers to employ plenty of their people and use artificial intelligence. But in Singapore they would divert their workforce to do things that artificial intelligence cannot do. It affect many jobs e.g an architect has more roles to do but artificial intelligence will help them to handle more projects. This help companies to employ lesser architects and handle more projects. This is the difference India and China cannot be as competitive as a country of 5 million people.

  • Singapore is really impressive, it shocked me even I had visited top cities like Tokyo, NYC. It combines all the best things that a city could have along with fair living expenses for residents. It’s the most perfect city in my mind(as a Chinese).

  • The most successful city that controlling by powerful countries they developing those things for…
Singapore people or they do those for the country who funding them?

Mafai in the lage scale… clearly that Singapore developing depends on trade… it’s doesn’t make sense what for they doing that… and threr are just a few situations and few countries that that they need those things is war zones and living in Mars….

It is a NO from me…

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

  • This is video should be a warning to more people than it is… Water conversation, population density, no land… Hear nature’s cry!!! Listen to her, please! This is destruction in a sustainable disguise.

  • Any Kenyan watching this? Can you believe that Singapore and Kenya were almost the same at independence, and while the later took for the sky, the former decided to sink and probably find the devil such a pity to us

  • But nothing is from singapore. Any product brand? Any car brand.? Any smartphone brand? Any clothe brand? Any cultural music band? Any cultural tv dramas or any cultural movie? None. How this small island can be influential? Sth like brunei. A nothing country.

  • One-side story! The city only focuses on developing but ignore culture and history preservation! Humans can not just live in the high-raised buildings without all-round humanities (Art, music, creativity,…etc.) Sadden!

  • Mungkin demi mengejar cita2 suci ku baik jugark Aku meghilangkan diri Dr muncul terlalu keeps disini muka dh muka baldi tuk mng cukup hodoh Dr mng sudah tak diperlukan muncul bila disaat2 Yg boleh dia tersenyum klk itu lbh baik aku rasakan tapi mustahil Aku punyai peluang lagi

  • The success of Singapore comes from the democracy in flag but China’s Confucian civilization in nature. The Covid-19 is a examiner of the quality of the civilization is humanized or not.

Maybe, due to the unbearable torture of seeing increasingly people are sacrificing to the novel coronavirus simply due to the ignorant social governance; in Apr. 12, 2020, the editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News, Dr. John Micklethwait and the political editor of the Economist, Dr. Adrian Wooldridge jointly published article The Virus Should Wake Up the West to despaired sigh: “The job of government is to protect its citizens. The pandemic reveals that key institutions in Europe and the U.S. are no longer up to the job.”

“Since Hobbes’s time, the world has come full circle. When he wrote “Leviathan,” China rather than Europe was the center of administrative excellence. China was the world’s most powerful country with the world’s biggest city (Beijing had more than a million inhabitants), the world’s mightiest navy and the world’s most sophisticated civil service, peopled by scholar-mandarins who were selected from across a vast empire by rigorous examinations.”

“Indeed, it was the struggle for mastery in Europe that propelled Western government forward: Europe’s monarchies seized on technological innovations — particularly new ships and weapons — to improve their chances of survival. When the Chinese invented gunpowder they used it for fireworks; Europeans used it to blow one another (and then the Chinese) out of the water.”

“The West’s governmental advantage is now questionable: Simply ask yourself whether you would feel safer today in New York and London or in Singapore and Seoul? Asia is catching up with the West, and in some smaller countries has overtaken it, in large part because Confucian Asia in particular has taken government seriously over the past few decades while the West has allowed it to ossify.”

Clearly, the two outstanding media professionals angrily pronounced that the civilization of the West is inhuman play of struggle for mastery by blowing one another out of the water. While the self proud of electoral democracy is not acted as that of the “rule of the people” or the “rule of the majority” at all, but it is the typical dictatorship of the inhuman low quality individuals in clown show without sense that how to create a peaceful life for their people; instead made people, themselves and their families of all lost feeling of safety.

  • somethings and places come like heaven story, if Singapore on earth or if we die in Kenya we settle here as our heaven? congratz planners of Singapore!

  • I like to watch videos like this about my country because Just like rich people having everything and getting bored with it or like curly hair people wanting straight hair because they’re bored yeah….I need videos like this to help me realise I shouldn’t complain so much that singapore is actually super boring

  • Yes. My beloved country. The rich version of North Korea. Except North Korea did not stole any land from the natives. Well done to the Royal Lee family.

  • It wasnt this video, but I was listening to thunderstorm sounds on an app, and I think this one will do the same, but my whole body started to fall asleep before I did and it felt so weird

  • @ Truman, read Jules Verne, he wrote about inventions in his novels that were science fiction in his days. That was beautiful reading for children of those years. Read a thousand leagues under the sea, it would be so boring now like wearing dated old bathing suits now when girls wear thongs.

  • Two things that got Singapore going
    1. A world class math and science school curriculum
    2. A complete separation of religion from public administration.

  • this is such a huge issue in our growing cities. There is almost an incessant desire to build roads and eradicate any space for just relaxing and having a green and blue space within the city.

Funny story actually, I woke up early one morning completely forgotten about my raining video and ran to my window with excitement, only to be crushed after my speaker said “low battery” before shutting down and silence…. Fell into my room, once again.

  • Did you ever think that deaf people never heard the whistle of that song? And some others, like Wind of Change, by Scorpions? Or did they even hear beautiful melodies like that? So, more respect for these people, they are stronger than us, because they can smile even though one of the most important senses is absent.

  • Reverse osmosis is expensive technology that uses heat. Nanocytes and magnets will become the preferred means of desalination. Greatest resource: imagination. (Yes!) Interesting presentation.

  • I was 10 yrs old when this song was first released. I already loved GNR. My uncle said this is GNR playing when they played this song on the radio. I said “no, it’s not.” I wasn’t used to Axl’s voice sounding smooth like that. Then at the end, I said “oh yeah it is them!”

  • drone sending for 4 kilograms? You are serious rich…

Growing vegetables in the labs? What about vitamins do they get?

Did you know that Thailand produces those things in very good and easier nature…

It so funny that they are spending money for building those things which is mean they don’t want spending money to other countries around here… it sounds smart and selfish and the same time….

Well even if those projects going well how long they would keep it clean and and fix them? It’s look they need alot of money to keep them in good condition…

And what if one day Thailand start the canel project what would you do?

What is make you so confident that you will be rich forever? From what I know you having money because of your location of the trade hub….

This is the not smart I called it isolated country in the modern world… you are not communicating with the rest of the word and not care to making business or helping others….???

From this document I really don’t believe that they want all those…
It’s looks like Singapore is the big lab testing things… which is all of them prepared to Western people…

    Not Singapore themselves….
    I don’t buy some of those projects….

Most of them don’t answer the problem of Singapore but… others countries…

  • Acá en alguna parte de mi Chile … Saludos mi gente y latinos! Que pase luego esta pandemia y la cuarentena también

  • Rain On Demand. This summer in Phoenix, Arizona has been the hottest ever on record. 57 days with temperatures of 110 deg + with very little rain. No measurable rain period at my location. I found this video on YouTube. Rain On Window. Mammy (my cat) and I drifted off to sleep watching the rain on the window and listening to the sounds of rain and distant thunder. It was still raining in the morning when we woke. We were watching on my big 52 inch TV in the dark room. Just like looking out the window. Very realistic. Best way to fall to sleep ever.
