A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) helps relieve hand pain by blocking enzymes that produce pain and swelling, but Dr. Blazar says it’s not effective for carpal tunnel syndrome. Long-term use of oral NSAIDs such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) are linked to ulcers, stomach bleeding, liver damage, and increased risk of heart attacks.

The combination of honey and cinnamon powder is a good natural way to treat arthritis in hands and help relax stiff muscles due to their excellent healing properties.

Also, honey has antiseptic qualities, while cinnamon has good anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In some instances a steroid injection may be administered into the carpal tunnel to decrease swelling. When conservative treatment does not achieve the desired results, surgery may be recommended. Surgery involves cutting the ligament that forms the roof of the carpal tunnel, which relieves the pressure on the nerve. There is no cure for lupus, but there are many treatments available that can help you manage symptoms.

For pain and stiffness in the hand and wrist joints, try: a warm or cold compress. Regular movement in the hands can also help prevent muscle weakness or atrophy. When the hands are busy moving on a daily basis, the muscles and tendons in them are less likely to diminish.

The exercises can also keep hand tendon reflexes strong, which prevents pain and burning sensations.

  • Hi. I know that this is unrelated, but when I was at the store with my uncle Air buying some milk, I was holding the door open for people. I saw a guy with a full cart. I held the door open for him and he rolled his cart in. When he was doing that, his cart accidentally skinned the back of my hand. He freaked out and apologized, but I just stayed calm and said, “it’s okay, sir. I’ve experienced worse pain than that.” I then looked at my hand. It wasn’t bleeding or anything, but the skin just peeled off. I didn’t cry, scream in pain, or get mad at him. I knew that it was just an accident and I forgave him for that. When me and Air were finished buying some milk, we left the store. The guy smiled at me and said, “thank you for your help.” And I said, “you’re welcome,” and smiled back at him. Does skin grow back on the back of your hand?
