  • Crushed it today with you! Would love to see some workouts with rubber bands from you. The ones out there (with rubber bands) are not versatile enough. After all, i compare them all with your workouts and they fall so far short on quality that i am not half as excited about them as i am about your workouts!
    Please do explore rubber bands for future videos.

  • When I search for workouts, I get sooo discouraged when I see lunges. I just cannot do them!! Don’t know if it’s a mind thing or what ������ but my big ass body trying to lunge with a weak ankle just makes my stomach knot.

  • I wish my washer had different settings to be able to do a small or medium load. If I just put less clothes in, I think I’ll still need to use the same amount of laundry soap because the same amount of water will be used no matter how full the washer is.

  • My problem seems to be that I cannot get much done in the evening.. Folding and putting it away is also where I get stuck.
    What works best is if I put a load in the washer right before I go to bed, and set it to start washing in the middle of the night. When I get up I can put it in the dryer, then fold and put away when I get home from work.

  • I am wondering if you do one load a day, do you no longer separate into loads? Do you set a different day a week for towels, kids clothes, undies, etc…

  • I did almost all of our laundry last week and basically put away like two loads and the rest is.. everywhere. I have a two year old and a VERY mobile 8 month old so getting things done is hard. I’m SOOOO looking forward to doing the FlyLady method!! Also THANK YOU for showing that other people are messy lol. I’m definitely a slob, but I grew up that way and compared to living with my parents my house isn’t too bad (which is crazy honestly because my house is disgusting atm) so I have to self correct almost 20 years of learning that that’s acceptable!

    Er… that must be a North America thing…��

    In Australia we hang clothes out on the line to dry. Which is a great time to let ypur mental cobwebs blow away. ��

    I don’t fold laundry. I put it straight on hangers and away. The children take theirs straight to bedroom and put them on hangers and on rails. Underwear folded or rolled and in drawers.

    Littlies get given their clothes already on hangers so they can put on their rail (low ones on purpose). Socks already rolled or we do it together until their hands can do it themselves.

    We don’t get the super-cold of Canada, though. And I need to fold those towels that were draped inside “to be sure to be sure” they are dry….

  • I do a load a day, but I have to start it after I get home from work. If I leave a load of wet laundry all day in the washing machine, which is outside, it starts to smell, especially in the summer, so for me it gets done…just in the evenings. The folding and putting away is my real problem though. My husband is often in bed during the evening (he’s on disability) and even when I get up he’s oftentimes still in bed when I leave for work. This means that I usually fold and hang laundry on hangers in the living room, and the laundry just stays in the living room, or I sneak into the bedroom with a flashlight so I can put stuff away. I sometimes feel like I’m a spy or breaking and entering my own bedroom! It is what it is, so I just work around it. I am so motivated to keep this going, and get myself into a positive routine, so thank you for the encouragement!

  • Girl! I highly recommend The Minimal Mom channel. She has great tips for decluttering clothes.

    I’ve simplified my 4 children’s clothes down to 6 outfits for my Bigs (ages 9 & 7) and 10 outfits for my Littles (3 1/2 & 18mo); outfits are a bottom and matching shirt. They each also have 4 Sunday dresses or tops/bottoms for my son, which these are rotated for church so they wear a different outfit each Sunday of the month.

    I also adopted the idea of having mine rewear the same clothes on MT and the same on WTh and the same FSat and then church clothes on Sundays.

    With doing those two things I am able to wash ALL FOUR children’s clothes in ONE load ONCE a week. ����

    I also wear the same thing 2 days in a row (now of course with babies and spit-up and littles who get really dirty this may not be possible, but when it can it helps!). This also means I can fit my clothes AND my husband’s in ONE LOAD A WEEK. ����

    Then I’ll wash towels one week and sheets the next week. I wash my dishtowels and cleaning rags weekly. That is only FOUR LOADS PER WEEK. Woot!!

  • Ahh, sadly i don’t have a washing machine, and using the small laundromat machines everyday would be too expensive (and time consuming considering I have to walk like 20 mins to the closest one) for just me and my husband, but laundry is not a big issue for me, I fold and put away immediately and I do a full load in the big machines once i have a big hamper full…

    Do you think I should still tweak my routine or is it ok as long as it works in my home?

  • I have labelled my baskets so I never mix up clean from dirty. And they are different shapes and colours. Upright green dirty basket. And white narrow and flat clean baskets…like yours. And I work right to left. So if it’s on the right of the washing machine it’s dirty. And on top and/or left of the dryer it’s clean.

  • To save time, when using a clothes line, hang shirts & dresses etc on coat hangers on the line. When dry they can go straight into your cupboard. Fold other clothes as you take them off the line, so when you go inside you can put them away immediately. Each member of the house has enough clothes for the week, so I do 1 persons washing per day. No separating required.

  • Hi from Australia. Loving your info. With a few kids one small load doesn’t cut it. Especially night toilet training with sheets to soak and wash. I think things need to be adapted for large families. Especially things like emptying trash once a week. With dirty nappies etc it’s multiple times a day we have to take out the trash.

I have always found it helpful if you have a delay start on your washing machine to put a load of washing on overnight (just like the dishwasher) and then you have a load already to be hung up as soon as you wake up (add to the morning routinejust like emptying the dishwasher, you also empty the washing machine) ����.

  • Looks like you need a tall hamper to seperate like items: whites, colors, pants, shirts., socks, towels. I make sure to have enough to hold me through two(bedding), three(undergarments & pajamas & tops), or four weeks(towels & socks & pants). So, I flop back and forth. Daily I wash like items or a variety of a small load.

  • I add my laundry task to my night list. I start a load right before we sit down for dinner then after the kids are in bed my husband or myself move it to the dryer. It sits in the dryer over night till the next day until I can get time to actually fold and put away. some days that is early and some days it is later in the day but it is dry and not sitting all day in the washer for hours like it use to

  • I struggled with doing laundry for so many years! Then I saw a wonderful laundry hack from my sister-in-law that changed everything! She had a vertical metal shelf with laundry basket to sort everything. This inspired me to come up with a system of my own. So, I purchased 2 Ikea Algot mesh basket frames with the baskets & a metal shelf on top. This helps me sort the clothes (no more piles on the floor) and have a place to fold them (no more clean clothes in hampers indefinitely).

  • Super motivating and like that your videos are in bite size pieces:) would you consider doing a video walking through your control journal? Love the fly lady system, but keep getting caught up on the system because I’m overwhelmed by starting a journal.

  • I don’t like to start mine before work and then let it sit all day….and then I don’t always get to it when I get home so sometimes I get backed up and become a weekend warrior too. Trying to do a load every other evening is my goal for now to stay more on top of things. These days are going so fast!

  • Good work. I bribe myself with coffees.
    Fist coffee only after I start load.
    Second coffee only after I’m dressed and have folded yesterday’s load off the drying rack. I save heaps never using a dryer and my rack is in the conservatory/sunroom so it dries fast.

  • What I didn’t understand is if you aren’t going to spend any of the resources, then why did you dismantle your equipment the moment you acquired a “better” piece of gear? Did it occur to you that if you retained various pieces to the point you only had a few empty spaces for each piece of gear, you might have had various pieces that when combined would give a more devastating effect over said multiple gear.
