As Gun Violence Grows, U.S. Life Expectancy Drops. WEDNESDAY, Dec. 5, 2018 Rising rates of gun-related deaths from violence and suicide have contributed to a drop in Americans’ life expectancy, a new study shows.

In terms of life expectancy, gun-related violence has a greater impact on blacks, while suicide had a greater impact on whites. In terms of life expectancy, gun-related violence has a greater impact on blacks, while suicide had a greater impact on whites. Overall, U.S. life expectancy increased from 76.8 years in 2000 to 78.7 years in 2014, but fell for the first time in 50 years in 2015, a trend that continued in 2016.

In this study, researchers analyzed 2000-2016 federal government data and found that among adults older than age. The following navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move through main tier links and expand / close menus in sub tiers.

The life expectancy for white Americans dropped about two years and nearly three months due to firearms, with assault contributing less than a year. The study used. Gun violence has cut the average life expectancy of African Americans by four years – roughly twice the loss of years that white Americans are experiencing, according to a new study.

Overall, gun. The pro-gun gang will tell you that it’s very simple, namely, that since more people are armed, the bad guys are afraid to commit crimes. This idea that more guns = less crime has been a favorite slogan of the gun industry since John Lott published a book with the same title back in 1998. But notwithstanding the book’s popularity, it suffers from some serious flaws, not the least of which. Amid that conversation came a call, once again, from academics who argue we should think of gun violence as a public health crisis.

  • No kidding!?? Ya think? Toxins in the food, water.. anything they can think of. Farmers spraying as much as possible. All so unnecessary and ridiculous. Support chemical free food!!

  • Obama Legacy = 6 years of booming economic growth, stocks at all time highs, 16 million Americans now have health insurance, ended the Iraq war, killed Bin Laden. Trump Legacy = stocks crashing, corruption, indictments, more rural white Americans in red states shooting up heroin as they lose their jobs due to Trump’s ridiculous trade wars. As long as Trumptards shoot up heroin instead of shooting up public places, I’ll be happy. LOL

  • The main thing that generates depression and alienation in myself is capitalism. And yes the vast majority of people are brainwashed into believing in capitalism. They will even endlessly defend it with fanatical sophistry.

  • You have a system that makes money when people are sick. More diseases = more money.
You need to focus more on health = avoid what makes the body stressed: Wrong nutrition, too little
    exercise, uncertainty, high debt tec.
Countries with universal healthcare have more focus on health.

  • Stress is the worst thing for your body, and there is plenty of it going around. Ain’t nobody trying to releive any of that. When’s the last time you got a call from your mortgage company saying ” no problem, take your time”, or electric provider ” this months bill is on us”…it don’t happen. The people of this world make it hard on their own people.

  • Would you rather be immortal or live for 100 years?
I rather live for 100 years cuz what will you do when the world ends but your immortal?

  • 1 in 1,400,000 chances of dying by fapping? So you’re telling me that i cant beat my meat because i will die? Fuck that, god you may take me.

  • Americans mean (whiteAmericans) Obadiah 1:2 Behold I have made thee small among the nations thou art greatly despised..Excuses Excuses Gods whipping this man off the Earth

  • Speaking of suicides, I’m fairly sure there is a myth about suicide being a thing of the 1st world. Because in the 3rd world they have less trivial things to think about and they have less time on their hands to become depressed and so on.
But 1st of all the WHO gives us a clue that it’s not the case, based on the very little data it has on the 3rd world it still can assess bigger suicide rates in poorer countries, yet not too poor that the data is not even collected in the 1st place. So for instance SK is a very poor country (i.e. has lots of poor people) and still has a decent enough infrastructure and bureaucracy that it registers the suicides.
2nd of all, this article is very compelling evidence that the 3rd world suicides a lot more than the 1st:
1/5 of the suicides worldwide are committed by ingesting pesticides…

  • The standard American fast food/ junk food/ processed foods/ animal product foods diet and the resulting obesity, combined with smoking, heavy drinking, and massive prescribing of drugs and medical procedures, as well as recreational drug usage are the main reasons.

  • Remember this pharmaceutical company: ELITE PHARMACEUTICALS.
The above is the only company which has the ability to produce an abuse-resistant opioid which could greatly help in addiction avoidance. No other pharmaceutical entity has been able to successfully do as ELITE PHARMACEUTICALS has done. We just need the FDA to move this along so opioid patients can avoid addiction.

  • Or maybe it has dropped because we eat like shit, don’t go outdoors, and have high stress levels. Treat your body like you care about it, and you’ll live longer….

  • LOL.. Fox and so silly. They act like they’ve never heard of Agenda 21. These guys. Sweet and innocent they are. All of You broadcast stations. You’re all silly.
We’re just dying early, and the people that are supposed to produce the news doesn’t really know why. You blame it on drugs, but drugs have been around for hundreds of years.

  • Big Pharma owns our politicians. Trump needs to put them on an international tribunal for crimes against humanity and hang the bastards. The opioid holocaust is killing more people then Hitler’s Halocaust.

  • Firearm deaths drastically increase in US, at least you won’t have higher chance to die in an earthquake or a snake bite. I’ll always have a bullet proof armor

  • Stress, anxiety, depression and hopelessness are the major contributors. There’s nothing in our society today that offers relief from those things. Nothing that offers hope. Being told we’re all just cosmic accidents that are lucky to be here for a short time until we die and lose it all only compounds the problem. Where is the hope in that? Trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and you can know the God of hope. The God who created you and loves you more than you can imagine. You can experience that love and receive His peace. The peace of knowing you were created for a purpose. The peace of knowing you matter and you’re significant. He has a plan for you and it doesn’t end here. But you were created free to choose or reject Him.
Our ways aren’t working. I haven’t seen a more peaceful, kinder, safer, compassionate or hopeful society since man began rejecting God in favor of evolution. Instead, it’s more reports like these of more disease, drug use, addiction, stress, anxiety, depression, suicide, violence, broken families, and a shorter overall life expectancy. We weren’t meant to live this way. Turn back to God and experience life to its fullest. As it was meant to be. The free and simple relationship with your Father through Christ costs you nothing and gains you everything. It’s time to come home.

  • Hello.

You may be interested in buying a template for creating such videos.

The template is very easy to customize.

You can see more details in the description under the video.

  • Half the country lives pay to pay….that’s probably quite a bit of reason behind this. I had recent back surgery and still paying on that so even new pains and ailments…I don’t go because I can’t afford any more bills….

  • Very true that most people don’t see it like this but most of the socioeconomic problems will have a serious mental impact on someone’s mental health.

  • How about the medical industry focus on prevention. Many diseases can be avoided with proper nutrition and would save so much money!! They love treatments because that’s how they make the most money.

  • If you think about it it’s not a fact that you will die in 150 years because there is that 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 chance that somehow we find a way to live longer or be immortal. You never know

  • Welcome to capitalism. Profits over people and sick people are very profitable. But hey we have more billionaires than everyone else and the largest military budget right guys?

  • This doctor is actually on to something, But most americans don´t understand why americans is falling behind. But the situation is actually not that bad, its currently 6 years less than in Japan. The reasons for this is many and I can try to list a few, with appropriate measures in brackets, overweight (start the whole country on time restricted eating) murders (remove guns) substance abuse (don’t let doctors prescribe so much class a and b) traffic deaths (much more harsh penalties for DUI and speeding) cancer, diabetes, CVD and alzheimer (caused by overweight, same cure), and last as the doctor mentioned, treating the whole person. Good luck america, but with the present monkey as President I don’t see much hope (chose better presidents)

  • I’d say AT LEAST one out of every five Americans has mental illness in one form or another. I have met countless people who are clinically depressed and substance abuse is really common. The Americans have long been digging their own grave and now they lie in it.

  • Don’t know who this doctor is but she isn’t ‘polished’ enough to be on TV. Heck, she doesn’t even sound all that intelligent. This segment was useless.

  • Those free market fundamentalists who accuse others of not wanting to work are people from the middle class that never worked a day in lives. They either inherited their wealth from their parents or received a bank loan to start their business. In most cases they are not even involved in the day to day operations of the business, that task is left to managers and the employees. Literally the only work they do is signing pay checks, paying building leases, and taxes. Very strenuous, labor intensive work!

  • Neo Liberalism always has this effect suicide rate, murder rate, drug addiction, crime all go up. From Russia to the Philippines to Honduras the same pattern is seen.

And the best of it is, the Right blame the Left for all such social catastrophes, so the remedy is more Neo Liberalism but with the added bonus of more punitive punishments, and more religion, and scapegoating of minorities, and of course the obligatory war, just to give people a sense of purpose.

And when reactionary solutions fail, they literally resort to shooting people in the street,

  • Out here in the target zone some of it is called chemtrailing the population. Some of it is side effects to medications such as death. Then we have the basic terrorists brought into the country to mow us down. Lest we forget the genetically modified and processed foods sold at the grocery store. Ahhh, the benefits of growing up in America with a democrat on every corner passing out ballots to anyone who can sway an election. Good job congress and senate, may you choke on your own comeuppance.

  • Sharks arent that scary. Its so rare to get killed by a shark, youre more likely to get killed by a vending machine and coconuts kill more humans yearly than sharks

  • Suicide can also be hereditary I come from a large family and half of them I’ve already committed suicide there’s not much you can do about it.
