  • Can u plz answer my question as u read it plz. Hi! A fan from India. And I wanted to know that do lice also happens in India Bc when I saw your video I never knew that were such things as lice and also can u tell or do a video as your wish of how to keep your hair dandruff free and also not oily. Love from India!❤❤

  • I only had it 2 times as a kid. My neighbors had them all the time. In school teacher sent to to get checked like everyone day for them for like a month even though I didn’t have them anymore. I was bullied badly because of it

  • In Germany a child with lice isn’t allowed to go to school or kindergarten and every other child at school is checked and all the parents get a letter. Also you have to use a special shampoo against lice and then after a few days they are allowed to go to school again.

  • I’ve had head lice a couple years ago and I had to cut my hair super short and eventually using a hea slice comb every day they all went
Just a tip to anyone with head lice

  • This is glorious, I’ve been looking for “how do you use scabies scaboma lotion?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of Aiyraeklyn Astounding Authority (should be on google have a look )? It is a good one of a kind guide for discovering how to end your itching scabies problem minus the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my partner got excellent results with it.

  • My mom tried everything when I had lice then she bought this very very strong chemical from Colombia and used it on my hair after 6 weeks I was lice free

  • 7 years ago we moved into an apt. infested with every kind of lice known to man. I treated, vacuumed every day for 2 weeks, got rid of them and 2 weeks later they were back. Kept doing it for 2 years. We moved into a home and the 1st night I couldn’t find blankets so I covered up with my sons heavy curtains. I was immediately crawling head to foot, covered in bugs. He treated for them, but never felt them biting him. I vacuumed his curtains just in case before packing them, not knowing they were very heavily infested. We tore out the carpeting in the house, because shampooing it 3 x’s a week wasn’t helping.
Been doing mayo tx’s on my head every 3 days. My son vacuums the house every other day. Our clothing never hits the floor, it goes directly into the washing machine. I have a metal knit comb I use all day every day. My son keeps his head shaved. He picks them off his chest and around his waist/belt area. I pick them out of my bra and under my breasts and torch them every day all day long I check myself. They crawl on my back biting in areas I can’t reach. Lay their eggs and make big sores all over my back, arms, chest. I find bites some mornings on my face. They get in my eyebrows and fall down into my eyes. I’ve done many natural tx’s besides the mayo. Had something from the uk sent and it didn’t work. Got some stuff from head hunters and it didn’t work to kill them, but the eggs/gnits drop off my head and get caught in the comb, torched, or vacuumed. They get in my socks, clothing. It’s a damn nightmare that needs to end. Rid doesn’t help. I’ve felt adults on my hair while rinsing rid out and went to pick them out and they were gone, hiding deeper in my hair. Some hunge bug and I mean huge was crawling up my leg under my slacks. I tried to stop it and couldn’t it was very strong. I got to the crown of my head and I speared it with the gnit comb. That happened 3 times. These suckers get so big? Triple the size of a grub worm. I finally stopped freaking out a few years ago. Bedding is washed every other day. Everything is vacuumed every other day. It’s not working. My head gets sores from the bites. Help? I am out of ideas. I did shave my head and kept it shaved for 6 months before giving up on it because it didn’t work either. I haven’t touched another human being in 7 years. Don’t visit friends or have them over. This can’t be healthy.

  • When I had lice, my mom soaked my hair in coconut oil overnight and then she had to wash out all the oil using dawn dish soap and also combed through my hair with a lice comb like a million times

  • This method seems kinda long. I used a LiceFreee spray and it got rid of all the bugs in my 5 year olds head, then I combed and picked the nits out for about 2.5-3 hours. I did a repeat head check the next day and found about five nits, did a repeat head check for two weeks every day and he was clear, it’s been about two months and he’s been good. Schools starting though and my biggest fear is him catching them again. We bought some repellant shampoos and I’m ordering teatree oil online to make a spray to hopefully help repel them through the day @ school.

  • so i had it in march but we went to a specialist but i’m not sure if it actually went away becuase i’m still itchy. and i’m reallt scared to tell my mom i think i still have it. what do i do??? please someone respond i’m so scared:(

  • I used to have lice but I got it from some of my friends
(If anyone watching in 2020 March to April ) since quarantine I never have lice anymore

  • Pretty much everyone has said and including me has done so many treatments Mayo, RID, straight up dish soap (dawn), and I still keep getting it, not now tho, but all I had to do is watch the best hair stylists and great for tips, to get rid of it. Thank you really, but I’ve used this trick before and it worked for years I didn’t have lice for like 2,3 years maybe, until I got it again, but I only did it for a week tho so, really mindy thank you soooooo much for reminding me for the next time i get it, which I hope it’s never❤️

  • My mom works with home lice removal service where they come to your home and treat you and screen you. They were the first home lice removal service to exist

  • How can you give a review that takes weeks to know if it worked and you never used it before, and he doesn’t have live! Worthless

  • Attn all you mom’s out, there I’m going to tell you how to get rid of those
Bugters get some shower caps & some Mayo & it can’t be diet, it has to be the real stuff!!

  • I had lice and my mom did all of that stuff so we went to professionals and my mom told them everything she did to my hair which is what y’all did and they said that it doesn’t work so we went to the professional all and now I’m all clean

  • Use permethrin cream…100% result..four years experience by doctors recommendation, no side effects….remove in 1use
    Highly recommended

  • I got lice and it sucksssss

Because I had to miss out on a beach day and it was a week before school so yeah Lice is the worst thing in the world

  • If when you realize you have lice, and there is only 3 crawling bugs, but (nits and eggs) does that mean it was caught fairly early?

  • Its quarantine im so glad i dont have to go to school with my hair full of lice medicine
Edit:go to pharmacy ask for a lice treatment with dimeticone they will probably ask how many poeple have it also, dimeticone will suffocate the lice but u have to put it on for over a week

  • Are you kidding me? Did it occur to you to try it in the direction the hair is going.. not all randomly “against the grain”? Of course it’s going to pull when you do it that way.

  • Although lice can only live away from a human host up to 2 days, any nits they lay that end up on upholstery/clothing/bedding in fact take 7-10 days to hatch and then you have lice again; so to say that “if you leave your house for more than 24 hours you can eradicate lice” is a bit misleading. Once you return and those eggs hatch and they find your head, well, you get infested with lice again.

  • Once you catch it, you should kill them so qucik, by punching them with between first finger nails, cuz they gonna fly or disappear and go another hair

  • You can find a head lice treatment and removal salon service in your area by visiting Nit Nurses National Head Lice Removal Directory

  • I’ve had lice twice as well and I’m hoping never again. I had it once in pre school and it was pretty easy to get rid of and then again in either 3rd or 4th grade and it was awful. It seemed like it took months to get rid of it that time. I was always over the bathtub with my mom throwing new products into my hair until one faithful day when nothing came out on the comb.

  • This was great, thanks, I have been researching “can i buy permethrin cream over the counter?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about Penameron Cerebral Preeminence (do a search on google )? It is a smashing one off guide for kissing goodbye to the itching pain of your scabies minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my co-worker got great success with it.

  • My family had lice and we had to use this electric comd to get rid of them. IT TOOK FOREVER AND RUIND A WHOLE SUMMER.
You know what though, if everyone in the world all shaved there heads at the same time lice would go EXTINCT!! Then there wouldn’t be a problem.
Someone needs to start a town were in order to get in you have to shave your head. THE TOWN WOULD BE LICE FREE!!! I’d move there. Who else would?

  • The metal lice combs are good but were still missing eggs and the small darker young lice in my daughter’s finer hair. What I did was get the lice comb started in wet hair, then turn it 90 degrees and flat to the hair. It really drags the hair through the comb tines and strains almost everything out. Be aware that some eggs were still attached despite this thorough combing. For those tough ones I would separate down to the fewest strands of hair then drag square of toilet paper squeezed around the hair down the hair shaft until it was removed. Patience and thoroughness is really the best weapon against the little sods. It’s your kid, don’t scrimp on the time it takes to get the parasites off them.

  • That is very wrong u are not supposed to use detergent to wash out oil u have to wash your hair with shampoo twice and then apply conditioner all done in one 1 method…no theorys

  • You can also try an all natural enzyme based leave in lice treatment product like Coco Loco. Kills lice in 5 min. No need to rinse. EASY! Thanks for interesting video!

  • I mom would put in the lice shampoo and wash it out and then soak my hair in. Pentene conditioner and comb my hair and put the lice in boiling water to kill them

  • I just use mayonnaise, it suffocates the lice and you just have to comb the eggs out. And just wash your bed sheets and clothes and everything

  • I had lice earlier in the year around Xmas and now it’s back and me and my mom don’t know how to get rid of it bc the comb won’t work and the nix won’t work

  • It should be a sign when you have to use a bit comb before using this. Any large lice are going to come out with the first comb through.

  • I actually found a cream/oil that I used twice and my hair was live-free. You put it on and the lice die immediately and you can just shake your head and they fall out. I wish I remembered the name, but I cannot find it anywhere. I used it like 6 years ago.:/

  • i have lice right now and i had it ever since the beginning of the year last year and my mom tried everything but this time we are using the olive oil tip hopefully this works thnx mindy

  • My Asian parents use to scare me saying if I don’t get rid of those head lice fast, then the lice will grow and all of them will drag me while I’m sleeping and hang me up a tree…

  • There was a lice outbreak at my highschool. Apparently she had it since Summerschool (I was in ss with her) and it was February. It was DISGUSTING. and because I was a freshman and she was as well freshman were getting SLAMMED FOR IT.

  • I got lice one time, I will forever be terrified of lice because it was hard to get rid of. It ruins the ends of my hair so I had to cut my super long down to below my waist hair to my shoulders, It was awful, I hope no one goes through what I went through.

  • 2 hours of vinegar or more
2 hours of oil or more
    Wash your hair with Downy
    Condition the hair
    Dry and iron it
Oh and come it daily for like A week or 3 days

  • Oh I was so itchy watching this. Ive had lice twice. Once when I was little the next when I was in high school it was so awful. the itching is unbearable and you can feel them walking on your skin. If you’ve never had lice you are so lucky you dont want them trust me.

  • I have a family and.. so when I was born I lived in a place. (Let’s call it Exa) And my family had lice. Mostly through school. So, basically I had lice because they spread it to me. 7 years later, I moved to USA with my parents. And my mom always took out lice from me everyday because we were new to USA and we tried to stay positive and stuff. I was lice-less. But then, 4 years later, my parents took me back to Exa as a vacation. When we were at airplaine I knew that I will get lice. And now I have lice again. I went back to USA with lice. I have been struggling. On my first day everything was so itchy so I scratched and scratched, it made dead skin cells and now I also have dandruff. I got news from my parents that we will be back there in 2023. And I will probably be lice-less but then go back and come back with lice. I’m so mad and sad. I don’t want this thing in my head. And my mom doesn’t help me anymore. Neither does my dad. And I have been unmotivated so I basically don’t keep my hair hygiene healthy. I have been asking my mom to buy lice removal combs or shampoos and she kept saying yes yes yes. But now there’s coronavirus and we are stuck inside our house. Does anyone have any tips? Please I hate this lice. Only you guys can help me:(

  • This is just superb, I’ve been looking for “does permethrin cream 5 kill lice eggs?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried Penameron Cerebral Preeminence (search on google )? It is a good one off product for kissing goodbye to the itching pain of your scabies minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my buddy got excellent results with it.

  • if my kids have lice first i’d cut their hair dora style so it would be easier to spread the lice shampoo and after that i’d shave their head i ain’t takin no chances

  • My hair was down to my feet and then I got nits and my parents forced me to get my head shaved bald and my mum made sure it wouldn’t grow back my eyes look their like ketchup

  • This actually worked great on my daughter’s hair. It worked better than the chemicals did, it was killing lice left and right and combing it out!! Maybe try it on the clients. It’s s lot better than using harsh chemicals on your kid that may or may not kill the lice.

  • For me I just put a bunch of Conditioner in my hair and use a specific lice comb pick sort of thing and come through it with the conditioner in and get some out like that and it always works for me

  • My nanny kids gave me lice, I use coconut oil and vinegar as RIT did not work. Vinegar dissolved the sticky coating on the eggs, the oils suffocated them. I also rapped my head in in plastics wrap. As a teacher now I’ve caught so many cases of lice I can’t count.

  • This was great, been searching for “how does permethrin cream kill scabies” for a while now, and I think this has helped. • It didn’t work for my girl. I picked by hand each and every egg. It took 4 days 4-5 hours per day to get it all out, but I got rid of everything

  • I legit pulled a small bug out of my hair and I looked at pictures, it had the same look and everything, so I smashed it with a book? Yes, was it a good idea, idk. Let me know I’m sooo scared

  • Surely its best to repeat every day if u can to eliminate any that may have been missed also, plus its waaaaaaay easier with boys, try doing this on girls long thick hair u will crack

  • I had a girl in my class who had lice n we sat close by, n she gave me lice!! I fucking hated it! N mum use to remove them again n again, but she used to sit up close n it was so annoying, I didn’t mean to b rude bug then one day I just said it.

  • I use to have those when i was a kid, but somehow whenever i swim to a swimming pool, they all die. I dont know why, but it works.

  • Have you or any of your kids had lice? Comment below! Remember you can order Brooklyn and Bailey’s LAST NEXT DOOR HERE: http://www.brooklynandbaileyshop.com ’s -Mindy

  • Lice cannot brearhe underwater, they die afrer 20 minutes and also if they are deep underwater: water pressure. Just put shampoo on the head with some oil and leave for 30 or more minutes, then flush away and check again with brush if eggs dont hold anymore. Voila!

  • Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about “how much permethrin do you take for scabies?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. • I had lice so bad as a kid everytime i got rid of it id get it again and in the end we shaved my head and now i hate even cutting my hair short cuz i was in 3rd grade i think when that hapoened and i was bald i was afraid of being picked on so i wore a wig and i remember one kid asking me why my scalp was purple cuz the scalp piece was purple and i just hated that part of my life i have long hair now and ihave only cut it short once about 3 years ago now i keep it past mid back

  • Your website has photos so small I can’t see the lice or the egg in other words you’re no help but than again your not here to help are you don’t worry I get that!

  • i lived in hawaii from birth to 14 and i had lice since i was 6 until 14. So tips for lice? move to a cold weather state/country.

    ps: i moved to canada

  • Cheers for this, I have been researching “can permethrin be applied to the face?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across Penameron Cerebral Preeminence (do a google search )? It is a smashing one of a kind product for kissing goodbye to the itching pain of your scabies without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my mate got cool results with it.

  • I had lice my mom cheked but she did not see anything but my head was itchy and one day she realized I had it the places were closed so she did it fir me but a different recipe

  • This is my story and sorry for my english.I had this 7 years cuz of my best friend (long story) and everything is a lie, shampons doesn’t help at all but brushes for that helped little bit but good.I cuted my hair to the neck many times but it still didnt helped that much. Then I finally had idea to do higlights and i went to the hair salon and I wanted to have more highlights so it can almost look like im blonde but I also could dye it in any colour but I wanted it to be blonde… anyway for that they had to use hair bleach cuz i had brown hair and I kept it on my head for 30 min or 1 h. Hair dresser told me if i feel my head skin burning or something i have to immediately tell her because some people have problem with sensitive skin,I didnt felt anything but I remember that bleach was so strong that my eyes were sometimes tearing just from air of the bleach. and that’s it! after that day i never got itch again! I didnt believe it so i brushed my hair many times to prove to myself…and i sill didnt find any lices not even baby eggs!!! It was so weird . I was finally happy!!,clean and free! Thank you God.Now its 4 years without them.I didnt was with my friend anymore because i moved in another city so i wasnt scared to got lices again. Then she also dyed her hair completely blonde and it was good on her and after she told me she also get rid of them. So guys use bleach and dye your hair in any colour you want at least for fun and you’ll get rid of lices soon. And you need to use real hair bleach so its besto to go to hair salon.

  • Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about “what insects does malathion kill?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about Danonnor Unexpected Dominion (do a search on google )? It is a good one of a kind product for discovering how to say goodbye to your itching pain of scabies minus the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my co-worker got cool results with it.

  • Every thing she “tests” doesn’t ever work. But by god her take home kit she sells will work 150% or a visit to her clinic. And she’s making money off the clicks she gets on these videos, but shes just here to help you for free!:)

  • I used this for about 10 years. Had to replace it a couple years ago and bought a boots own version. Honestly it’s amazing. My son is autistic and doesn’t deal well with hair cuts or having stuff put in it. It’s easy to use and kills lice on contact. I’d take doing it in sections everyday over a meltdown every time.

  • Adults don’t have lice cuz they clean them off right away when they feel their symptoms but kids always ignore and refuse to get their heads cleaned so.. obviously they grow the lices.

  • This comb saved my sanity. I shampooed the hell out of my kids hair and this was the only thing that got rid of the lice. All you have to do is comb your kids hair. How hard is that? This “honest review” is bullshit. You didn’t try to get rid of lice with it or even use it right. I got rid of lice on all 3 of my kids. That’s 3 out of 3. And in my opinion you are biased have no idea what you’re talking about.

  • I got lice a couple months ago for the first time ever. I have no idea where because I’m an adult and don’t have school aged children. It was also the middle of the night, so I just flipped my head upside down, drenched my hair in olive oil, wrapped my head in a towel and went to bed.

  • Best way to get rid of lice is

  • Many thanks, I’ve been looking for “how to apply permethrin cream for scabies” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about Penameron Cerebral Preeminence (just google it )? It is a great one of a kind product for kissing goodbye to the itching pain of your scabies minus the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 got amazing success with it.

  • You didn’t even use it on a person with lice, you basically just combed someone’s hair this has actually worked for me. It doesn’t hurt or “zap” people. It makes the noise and stops once it makes contact with the lice.

  • This is the most biased opinion I ever watch on YouTube. You have absolutely no idea of the scientific method and your statement is a subjective guess instead of a fact. 1. You did not try it on a person with lice. 2. You did not followed directions, it has to be use at 45 degrees. 3. There is not zoom to corroborate what you say.

  • I know this amazing article about head lice infestation. You have to check it out. https://www.pediatriconcall.com/articles/alternative-medicine/head-lice/head-lice#1912

  • I’ve had it quite a few times and the thing that has worked consistently for my family is a chemical called Ovide. Most doctors won’t recommended it at first but if you mention it they’ll almost always be more than willing to give it to you. You only have to use it once and it’s almost always cheaper. You don’t usually need to use a comb either, but you do usually have to get rid of your current hair brush and wash all the clothes then dry in high heat

  • My mom didn’t care & would send me to little girls houses who she knew had lice cause she knew the weekends I went with my dad he would have to deal with it or his wife’s kids would get infested ‍♀️ I was shamed my whole life for washing my hair daily & having lice more than a handful of times & everyone at school messed with me so it was a whole situation!

  • This was great, I’ve been looking for “how long after permethrin does itching stop?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across Penameron Cerebral Preeminence (do a google search )? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for kissing goodbye to the itching pain of your scabies without the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 got amazing success with it.

  • I would just shaved my head if I got lice. My hair is already really short. Also my dad and grandma both have shaved heads and I liked it

  • Isto nao e nessecario agora, ate que nao resolve nada… Existem champos que matam os piolhos e soltam as lendias!!! Como digo com este processo nao se chega a lado nenhum!!!

  • This made my head itchy. I had lice a lot growing up. Poor family, and not great resources for getting it out. Plus, my hair is really fine and those nit combs didn’t work on me. My mom had to go through and pick everything out hair by hair. Anytime I hear about lice I get ptsd itchy

  • “UGH!!! I HAD A SEVERE CASE OF HEAD LICE AS A CHILD,AND I WAS BULLIED MORE THEN I WAS OFTEN!!! I WAS ALWAYS CALLED, UGLY LITTLE LICE GIRL…AND THEY ALWAYS POINTED FINGERS AT ME.BUT IN 2006 I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET RID OF THEM!!!!!

  • I think you’re going to criticize every product because you want people to spend $80 an hour at your clinic. Not everyone has that kind of money.

  • when i got lice a few months ago we went to walmart and bought equate brand lice shampoo and they never came back. i recommend definately

  • Why is she brushing his hair so weird?! It’s like she has never brushed someone’s hair before. This was worthless. Don’t waste your time watching.

  • Minecraft is an open world game that has no specific goals for the player to accomplish, allowing players a large amount of freedom in choosing how to play the game.[13] However, there is an achievement system.[14] Gameplay by default is first person, but players have the option to play in third person mode.[15] The core gameplay revolves around breaking and placing blocks. The game world is essentially composed of rough 3D objects—mainly cubes—that are arranged in a fixed grid pattern and represent different materials, such as dirt, stone, various ores, water, and tree trunks. While players can move freely across the world, objects and items can only be placed at fixed locations relative to the grid. Players can gather these material blocks and place them elsewhere, thus allowing for various constructions.[16]

At the start of the game, the player is placed on the surface of a procedurally generated and virtually infinite game world.[17] Players can walk across the terrain consisting of plains, mountains, forests, caves, and various water bodies.[17] The world is divided into biomes ranging from deserts to jungles to snowfields.[18][19] The in-game time system follows a day and night cycle, with one full cycle lasting 20 real-time minutes. Throughout the course of the game, players encounter various non-player characters known as mobs, including animals, villagers and hostile creatures.[20] Non-hostile animals—such as cows, pigs, and chickens—spawn during the daytime. The player may hunt them for food and crafting materials. By contrast, hostile mobs—such as large spiders, skeletons, and zombies—spawn during nighttime and in dark places, such as caves.[17] Some Minecraft-unique creatures have been noted by reviewers, such as the Creeper, an exploding creature that sneaks up on the player; and the Enderman, a creature with the ability to teleport and pick up blocks.[21]

A few of the hostile and neutral mobs displayed in Minecraft from left to right: Zombie, Spider, Enderman, Creeper, Skeleton
The game world is procedurally generated as players explore it, using a seed which is obtained from the system clock at the time of world creation unless manually specified by the player.[22][23] Although limits exist on vertical movement both up and down, Minecraft allows for an infinitely large game world to be generated on the horizontal plane, only running into technical problems when extremely distant locations are reached.[nb 1] The game achieves this by splitting the game world data into smaller sections called “chunks”, which are only created or loaded into memory when players are nearby.[22]

The game’s physics system, in which most solid blocks are unaffected by gravity, has often been described as unrealistic by commentators.[24] Liquids in the game flow from a source block, which can be removed by placing a solid block in its place, or by scooping it into a bucket. Complex systems can be built using primitive mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and logic gates built with an in-game material known as redstone.[25]

Minecraft features two alternate dimensions besides the main world – the Nether and The End.[21] The Nether is a hell-like dimension accessed via player-built portals that contains many unique resources and can be used to travel great distances in the overworld.[26] The End is a barren land in which a boss dragon called the Ender Dragon dwells.[27] Killing the dragon cues the game’s ending credits, written by Irish author Julian Gough.[28] Players are then allowed to teleport back to their original spawn point in the overworld, and will receive “The End” achievement. There is also a second boss called “The Wither”, which drops materials used to build a placeable beacon that can enhance certain abilities of all nearby players. A third boss, which lives in the sea, is currently known as the Guardian, it has been added in the 1.8 update of Minecraft.

The game primarily consists of two game modes: survival and creative. It also has a changeable difficulty system of four levels; the easiest difficulty (peaceful) removes any hostile creatures that spawn.[29]

    Survival mode

A screenshot of the Minecraft crafting screen, showing two stone axes being crafted
In this mode, players have to gather natural resources (such as wood, stone, etc.) found in the environment in order to craft certain blocks and items.[17] Depending on the difficulty, monsters spawn at darker places on the map, necessitating that the player builds a shelter at night.[17] The mode also features a health bar which is depleted by attacks from monsters, falls, drowning, falling into lava, suffocation, starvation, and other events. Players also have a hunger bar, which must be periodically refilled by eating food in-game, except in peaceful mode, in which the hunger bar does not drain. If the hunger bar is depleted, then the health bar will slowly diminish. Health replenishes when players have a nearly full hunger bar, and also regenerates regardless of fullness if players play on the easiest difficulty.

There are a wide variety of items that players can craft in Minecraft.[30] Players can craft armor, which can help mitigate damage from attacks, while weapons such as swords can be crafted to kill enemies and other animals more easily. Players may acquire different resources to craft tools, such as weapons, armor, food, and various other items. By acquiring better resources, players can craft more effective items. For example, tools such as axes, shovels, or pickaxes, can be used to chop down trees, dig soil, and mine ores, respectively; and tools made out of better resources (such as iron in place of stone) perform their tasks more quickly and can be used more heavily before breaking. Players may also trade goods with villager mobs through a bartering system.[31] Emeralds are often the currency of the villagers, although some trade with wheat or other materials.[20][31]

The game has an inventory system and players are limited to the number of items they can carry. Upon dying, items in the players’ inventories are dropped, and players respawn at the current spawn point, which is set by default where players begin the game, but can be reset if players sleep in beds in-game.[32] Dropped items can be recovered if players can reach them before they despawn. Players may acquire experience points by killing mobs and other players, mining, smelting ores, breeding animals, and cooking food. Experience can then be spent on enchanting tools, armor and weapons.[29] Enchanted items are generally more powerful, last longer, or have other special effects.[29]

Players may also play in hardcore mode, a variant of survival mode that differs primarily in the game being locked to the hardest gameplay setting as well as featuring permadeath; upon players’ death, their world is deleted.[33]

    Creative mode

An example of a creation constructed in Minecraft
In creative mode, players have access to most of the resources and items in the game through the inventory menu, and can place or remove them instantly.[34] Players, able to fly freely around the game world, do not take environmental or mob damage, and are not affected by hunger.[35][36] The game mode helps players focus on building and creating large projects.[34]

    Adventure mode
Adventure mode was added to Minecraft in version 1.3; it was designed specifically so that players could experience user crafted custom maps and adventures.[37][38][39] Gameplay is similar to survival mode but introduces various player restrictions. This is so that players can obtain the required items and experience adventures in the way that the mapmaker intended.[39] Another addition designed for custom maps is the command block; this block allows mapmakers to expand interactions with players through certain server commands.[40]

    Multiplayer
Multiplayer on Minecraft is available through player-hosted servers and enables multiple players to interact and communicate with each other on a single world.[41] Players can run their own servers or use a hosting provider. Single player worlds have local area network support, allowing players to join worlds on locally interconnected computers without a server setup.[42] Minecraft multiplayer servers are guided by server operators, who have access to server commands such as setting the time of day and teleporting players around. Operators can also set up restrictions concerning which usernames or IP addresses are allowed to enter the server.[41] Multiplayer servers offer players a wide range of activities, with some servers having their own unique rules and customs. A stand-alone server called CraftBukkit[43] has been developed by the community to facilitate development of server-side plugins enabling otherwise impossible gameplay elements such as permissions, ranks, virtual currency, and chat formatting. Competitions are available in some servers, in which players can participate in a variety of games, including some resembling The Hunger Games.[44][45] A gamemode, PvP (player versus player), may be enabled to allow fighting between players.[46] In 2013 Mojang announced Minecraft Realms, a server hosting service intended to enable players to run server multiplayer games easily and safely without the hassle of setting up their own.[47]

    Development

The developer of Minecraft, Markus “Notch” Persson, began developing the game as an independent project while working for King.com and later jAlbum.[48][49] He was inspired to create Minecraft by several other games such as Dwarf Fortress, Dungeon Keeper, and later Infiniminer. At the time, he had visualized an isometric 3D building game that would be a cross between his inspirations and had made some early prototypes.[48] Infiniminer heavily influenced the style of gameplay, including the first-person aspect of the game, the “blocky” visual style and the block-building fundamentals.[49] However, unlike Infiniminer, Persson wanted Minecraft to have RPG elements.[50]

Minecraft was first released to the public on May 17, 2009, as a developmental release on TIGSource forums,[51] later becoming known as the Classic version. Further milestones dubbed as Survival Test, Indev and Infdev were released between September 2009 and February 2010, although the game saw updates in-between. The first major update, dubbed alpha version, was released on June 28, 2010. Although Persson maintained a day job with Jalbum.net at first, he later quit in order to work on Minecraft full-time as sales of the alpha version of the game expanded.[52] Persson continued to update the game with releases distributed to users automatically. These updates included features such as new items, new blocks, new mobs, survival mode, and changes to the game’s behavior (e.g., how water flows).[52]

To back the development of Minecraft, Persson set up a video game company, Mojang, with the money earned from the game.[53][54][55] On December 11, 2010, Persson announced that Minecraft was entering its beta testing phase on December 20, 2010.[56] He further stated that users who bought the game after this date would no longer be guaranteed to receive all future content free of charge as it “scared both the lawyers and the board.” However, bug fixes and all updates leading up to and including the release would still be free. Over the course of the development, Mojang hired several new employees to work on the project.[57]
