Some very sensitive tests can be used even earlier. These tests work by. Pregnancy tests work by checking your urine (pee) for a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG).

Your body only makes this hormone if you’re pregnant. HCG is released when a fertilized egg attaches to the lining of your uterus — when pregnancy begins. If your pregnancy test results are positive, it means you’re pregnant. With most tests, you place the end of a dipstick in your urine stream or dip the dipstick in a container of collected urine. A few minutes later, the dipstick reveals the test result — often as a plus or a minus sign, one line or two lines, or the words “pregnant” or “not pregnant” on a.

Early pregnancy symptoms can be considered a general screening test to find out if you are pregnant. Both at-home urine and doctor’s office blood pregnancy tests check for the presence of the pregnancy hormone hCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin. Home pregnancy tests measure the levels of hCG in your urine.

A blood pregnancy test measures the hCG levels in your blood. Health care providers suggest taking a blood test because they’re more sensitive and can offer more information than a home urine test. The best time to take a blood pregnancy test is if your period is several days late.

Digital pregnancy tests that display the words “pregnant” or “not pregnant” on a screen often cost about four times as much as ones that simply provide a single or double line on a paper strip to. There is a lot of skepticism today about the accuracy of online pregnancy tests. However, according to an anonymous questionnaire, this test has shown results of 91% accuracy because it is based on the common early pregnancy symptoms that most women experience. Pregnancy tests can be done at the clinic or at home, but only once the fertilized ovum has implanted in the uterus, because this is when pregnancy hormone can be detected in the urine.

Though some hCG is in your urine a week after conception, it’s not likely to be enough to register on the HPT – which means that if you test 7 days before your expected period, you’re likely to get a negative result even if you’re pregnant.

  • I met my Husband when i was 25, We both knew we wanted kids and we knew we needed to get started soon. So i decided to go for fertility test and get some basic testing done, when the result came out my report was totally discouraging, my doctor told me that probably my only chance to get pregnant was to use a donor egg. I was absolutely shocked, we hadn’t even started trying yet, and all of a sudden I was told that I had absolutely no chance of getting pregnant on my own, my head was full of terrifying thoughts like I wouldn’t ever be a mother etc. But luckily my beloved, i found dr Ebhariagbe spell and herbs whose contact was shared on Fertility blog. He is in West Africa and the charges for the herbs was so sweet and more than acceptable for me, the herbs was sent to me in few days and i followed the simple steps and i was confirmed pregnant a month after using the medication. I want everyone desperately in need for a child to contact him on this info,WhatsApp contact number +2349064310416 or visit his Instagram via @dr_ebhariagbe. I spent less money than planned, you gonna get the best from him. Thanks…

  • Congratulations! I just found out my husband and I were expecting a little less than two weeks ago! The first couple of pregnancy tests I took in July were negative. We are having my son’s birthday parties at the same time on 25 July and I wanted to have a couple of beers with my family so Friday night the 24th before the party I decided I would have my husband pick up a pregnancy test on the way home just to be safe because my period hadn’t started yet even though my cycle has been a little irregular since we started trying and I went off my birth control. I didn’t realize that when the test glasses over that that’s not the actual results so when it glossed over with a negative symbol I just threw in the trash. Then when I went to stand up and flush the toilet or whatever I looked back down out of sadness and disappointment because I’m so used to getting negative results at this point and it was a +. I was shaking so hard! Grab that test and ran right into my bedroom screaming my husbands name he was like what because he figured if it had been positive I would’ve came out of the bathroom already I ended up taking six tests over the course of that weekend I’ve had a pee test at the doc and a blood test to confirm! I can’t wait for my appointments!!! We are pandemic pregnancy twins

  • I’m in the same boat girl. Just got done with the guessing games and finally for two positive clearblue digitals ❤️ all in gods timing

  • From my understanding of things there’s not really such a thing as a false positive pregnancy test. I feel like the people who got a positive result and then they weren’t pregnant probably had what’s called a chemical pregnancy. I used those tests and my result was accurate!

  • It’s been 5 years I’m married n I had my 3rd misscrriage few days ago and doctor recommended me karotyping test is it right way to find the reason behind the misscrriages? Please reply doctor

  • I got those exact tests and got a pretty visible line 6 days before my missed period. I think they’re great and affordable if you’re addicted to taking tests.

  • Awww that’s so sweet! I also didn’t trust the cheap tests and got the FR that showed positive. I thought had a heart attack lol! Now my “second line” is almost 6 months old:)

  • Congrats to you on the news that you are expecting a baby and my thoughts and prayers are with you for a safe and healthy pregnancy and God bless you all and stay safe and healthy. Love ,

  • back in March I had a miscarriage and me and my husband are on the ttc journey. I found out I was pregnant with very early signs. I tested and got dye stealers. my last period was June 28th putting me at 6 weeks 6 days along.
I had 4 beta drawls. first results hcg was at 27000s at the end of week 4… 2 days later it was 54000s… and 4 days later week 5 and 6 days it was at 87000s….. 3 days later at 6 weeks 2 days it was over 102100. I have been put on progesterone since week 4 my progesterone levels were only at a 7. Hoping for a sticky baby or babies. Love to hear advice…. ultrasound is in 5 days:)
    Really enjoying your videos!!!

  • Congrats! I’m ten weeks pregnant and took ten tests in one day with mixed text results. So a digital will from now on be my go to!

  • All you have to do is be patient, just wait and you’ll feel so good finally taking a test and seeing a really dark line. I took mine the day before my missed period and the line came up immediately so dark, so happy I waited so it wasn’t a guessing game then straight after took a digital how many weeks and got a pregnant 2-3 weeks, it’s much more reassuring than a tiny faint shadow on a test. Remember patience will be reassuring then it’s a definite answer when you take a test.
