POSITIVE PREGNANCY TEST OR EVAP LINE??| TTC UPDATE

Video taken from the channel: Tania Berenice

It is not indicative of a positive pregnancy test. Evaporation lines happen when the urine that was on the test area starts to dry out and evaporate. The chemical composition of that particular urine sample has now changed since that urine sample evaporated, sometimes causing the test to show a positive line. This evaporation line is different from a faint test line (which is a valid. A faint positive test line can also appear if you take a pregnancy test shortly after implantation when your hCG level is low, or if your urine is diluted.

This can happen when taking a pregnancy. Unfortunately, a faint positive line can also be a sign of a very early miscarriage, sometimes called a chemical pregnancy, which occurs within the first 12 weeks. If you are pregnant, your blood test will usually be positive within 3-4 days after implantation or about 9-10 days after fertilization and ovulation, which is roughly 5-6 days before a missed period. Four factors determine when a home pregnancy test becomes positive 1.

Early in pregnancy, there’s less hCG present, so the line is fainter. Most home tests are designed to show a positive result when your period is two to three days late (or 15 to 16 days after ovulation) and you are pregnant. Some pregnancy tests are more sensitive to hCG than others. A more sensitive pregnancy test might show a clearly positive result if even a small.

Different Line Colors When taking a pregnancy test, any line in the test indication area is considered a positive pregnancy test, even if it is lighter than the control line. The darker line is usually the control line. This is not a sign of a problem with the pregnancy or the pregnancy test, assuming it came up within the time limits of the test.

Of course, to really confirm pregnancy, you need your line to show up within the suggested time framebut when i was pregnant my lines showed up after a few hours at 8dpo and 9dpo. Then at 11dpo i got my first proper bfp in the time frame. (When I am not pregnant, no lines show up). But what about when you see a faint line on a pregnancy test within the time frame allotted by the test?

How do you know it’s really a positive pregnancy test? Don’t test too early. The earlier you test, the lowest your hCG levels will be.

If you have a real squinter, test again in a day or two. As hCG rises, a true positive test will darken. Hi this happened to me first test, faint line came up after an hour you know the situation where you do it and nothing and throw it away but can’t resist a peep again later! Did one the next morning nothing for half an hour then a faint line.

The next day stronger line but still faint but within the test time. Now I’m 31 weeks! It is possible to see a faint line on your pregnancy test and get your period a few weeks later, meaning that you’re not actually pregnant, or were only briefly pregnant.

This doesn’t mean the test didn’t work, but you might have experienced a very early and common pregnancy loss called a chemical pregnancy.

List of related literature:

Any line you see (pink or blue, positive sign, or digital readout), no matter how faint it is (or no matter how faint you feel), means there’s hCG in your system – and a baby likely in your future.

Shortly after implantation, specific cells in the outer portion of the developing embryo secrete hCG.The presence of this hormone in the woman’s system produces a positive pregnancy test result because, as noted earlier, hCG can be detected in the woman’s blood and urine.

  • Hi! I can’t see a positive on the Walmart test but I totally see a faint positive on the first response!!! Go get some blood work done girl… just to be safe

  • I think Im pregnant. But I feel so stupid. Im only 7 DPO…..but Ive never felt like this in terms of just PMS symptoms. Ive had faint pelvic cramps for a couple of days then magically no more, nausea to the point where even water makes me sick sometimes, and tender breasts on and off. I broke down and took a test today and I THINK I see a faint faint line…. but Im almost sure its an evap line…

  • Commenting as a watch first response is 100% faint positive! Get bloods and pee on a stick in a few days it should definitely darken!

  • I did do 13 pregnancy test and it sed pregnant then I did a dith pregnancy test and it sed not pregnant I did 12 tesco test and they were all pregnant and then I did clear blue test and it sed not pregnant what to do

  • You can’t use the result after so much time has passed, the test needs to give you a faint result within the time of reading the results, which is 3-5 minutes. Any thing after that maybe an evaporation line. My evaporation line appeared less than. 3minutes at my doctors office and he told me I have to be pregnant, for the test to have given me the result in such time…under 3 minutes.

  • Hi doctor..I had periods last on Dec that was twice nd secondly in the month of January i had a bleeding little..I took test by kit nd I had faint line in three of that….m I pregnant…plz reply

  • Mam mjhy last month periods 9 ko huwe thy or 2nd last month 15 ko es mnth mein periods miss ho gye ni huwe ma aj check Kia to faint li8 mehsus ho rei am I pregnant ya no

  • Back in January of this year I randomly took a test and it was negative (that’s what I assumed)… I tossed it and went to work… came back from work 8 hours later and it was just the slightest pink line… I immediately freaked out until I googled it and found out about evaporation lines. This was about 8 days before my period was due… I took another about 6 days before my period was due and it was negative…. fast forward 6 days and my period never came. The next day I took another test and BAM two very visible lines. Unfortunately the pregnancy ended at 6 weeks.

Got on birth control in March (the kind where I only get a period every 3 months)…. started having random cramps a few days ago (similar to when I was pregnant last time) I took a test to ease my mind and to eliminate pregnancy. Bc I am on birth control AND I take my pill like clock work I knew it was impossible to be pregnant. Well not to my surprise it showed up negative initially… BUT my boyfriend looked in the trash about 4 hours after I took it and he swears it’s positive. It’s a very slight pink line…. similar to last time…. now it’s a game of cat and mouse since I don’t have a period due until the end of August.

  • The same thing for me i go bk withon a hour after it dry and see a line i have three i see lines on today did u dind out if ur prego im goin through ur videos now to see lol but good luck

  • Those 88 cent tests are my go to. And I’ve always tested early with them. Never had an evap line with. Also pregmate test are my go to as well. Never failed me.
Also never heard of them really having a evap line. Now blue dye test are notorious for evap lines. Dont ever look at a test past 10 mins. Never never! Trust me from a past ttc for 2yrs mom.

  • Mam mere 5 days uper hogaye hein meri date 2 may 2020 thy strip me bohat hi faint line aye ha itni light ha k bas lag raha ha k halki c line ha to kys pregnant hun

  • The test line will only show up if it detects hcg, the molecules in the test bind with the ones in the urine and the color only shows if there is the hcg hormone.

  • hai madam…I got married just 2 months ago……..

today early morng I chkd,i got 1 line but my periods r missed Is der any chance dat am pregnant? bcz my periods was 3rd but today date is 6th still didn’t so

  • My partner and I have been sexually active, I missed my period last month and I took a pregnancy test and it came out with a faint line and then just yesterday I took another one and it also came out with a faint line, please help I don’t know if I am pregnant

  • I hope your pregnant! I’ve been trying to conceive since November and have had no luck. I’m also taking the balance pills. Two weeks ago I went to go get a massage. She specializes in the uterus and ovaries. Turns out my ovaries and uterus were super low she massaged them back up. I hope it works! She has gotten multiple women pregnant with the massage. If it does I will let you know maybe it will help you.

  • Why would a test turn positive after the recommended time? If u don’t have hcg in your urine it should never turn a color because isn’t the test only looking for hcg. Evaplines are grey and never have color just grey? So why would it change color after the time frame?

  • Since this is a late upload maybe you’re pregnant. BUT that Walmart test is the devil. I had a colored line just like that and I was not pregnant. It’s only accurate within the timeframe that is all.

  • If it took an hour or 2 it’s a evap line for sure. I’ve had those in the past with the same test and they have color. I would say not to read those test after 10-15 min. And 7 dpo is just too early to get a BFP,even on a FRER. Keep testing hun.

  • I toke a faint line on my pregnancy test after 3 Days of miss period today two weeks after I do another one Nd it says not pregnant am confused ‍♀️ first it says I am faint lime my Nd my partner see it Nd now I don’t

  • Hello ma,am

    Pleassssssseeeeeeee must rply.

  • I’ve driven my self absolutely insane with those cheap Walmart ones ‍♀️ I was nuts.. I’ve had them do the same thing and I got my feelings hurt every time. It’s tough. Pcos is a big bitch. I’m hoping this will be my year and I hope it’s your too! ❤️

  • OMG I tested yesterday and got the same a super faint gray line no color I tested today again at3PM was negative baby dust to you

  • I see a faint line on both test unless I have line eyes again lol are you trying or no if so baby dust your way if not oops

  • Mam what if the Control line is very red but the Test line is very faint faded line is this positive or not.. tell me the truth mam becouse my cousin want to have a baby?

  • My wife has faint lines in all of her test after they dried up. Is it possible for them to be evap lines on all of them? Only this cycle tho.

  • I took a pregnancy test and Both have faint lines everybody can see, days later I had light blood For 3 days with very little spotting I’m confused

  • With all that been said. I took two pregnancy first response tests both faint line. I haven’t had my period over four months now. Tubes supposed to be tied over 19 years. I got all the pregnancy symptoms including my husband. When I said all I mean all. Went to the hospital because I wasn’t feeling well. I ask this shady doctor to please give me a blood test he said no. I told him that my HCG levels is low that you need to take blood from me he said you around two months so it will show. In three minutes he came back in and said you not pregnant. I said hold up how the hell is that and as we speak this baby moving around in my stomach and I haven’t had my period over four months. This fool doctor told me that he don’t know and to followup up on my ob/gy doctor. Mind you I’m not pregnant in his words but on the paper said that I am pregnant three months. Wtf. So now no blood feel like it’s coming on but not. Still moving in my stomach waiting to do another test if that comes out positive. I’m going to my doctor and get the blood work.

  • OMG. Sorry to leave another comment. I just wanted to remind you, you will not get a period before you ovulate. I couldn’t figure out how I was pregnant with the last one cause in”never got my period after I had a miscarriage” then my husband had to remind me that I wouldn’t get a period before ovulated and it was like a light bulb went off. Lol. You did stop pumping recently. Might have been just enough change to throw your body into ovulating. Just saying. Sorry for all the comments.

  • If you’re still getting faints a few days in a row, you can, maybe request a blood draw at your ob/gyn. Maybe it’ll at least ease the questioning.
(Can totally see the lines on some of those btw)

  • Hi I took a pregnancy test and I have a faint red line, but I took another one and came out negative I’ve not missed a period yet I have 8 days to go what does that mean?

  • Well they both look positive to me.im 34 weeks so still remember what a neg and positive look like lol will you test again soon?x

  • Hi ladies, please could someone explain this to me. I have 31 day cycle. I got my period on 13th December 2019 and my ovulation day according to flo app and ovulation test was 29th dec. I took ovulation test on 28th, it was positive. I jokingly took a pregnancy test, it came out a faint line. So i waited and took another pregnancy test on 30th it was also negative. What does it mean

  • I have a situation where the girl im dating is on birth control (combination pills) and had a very short period along with a few other weird symptoms. She took a clear blue and it said negative (one blue line) then she put it in here purse and a few hours later went to toss it our it had a lighter blue line that showed up on the pregnant side. We got so scared so we got another clear blue an a first response test. She took 2 others that day(all negative) but the next morning she took the first response and initially it said negative (8am) then I looked around 10am and I noticed a faint line (slightly pink) so we started freaking out and took 2 other test all came back negative. We went to planned parent hood and took a urine analysis that night around 6pm and they said it was a clear negative ( i ready that the urine test they do is similar to the at home test) so we went for a blood test and are waiting or the results. Were terrified right now and could use some advise. I can send pics etc. I know all i can do is wait for the blood test results (2-3 days) but im loosing my mind. Any advise?

  • Jan 3 got my period for 2 days Jan 31 got my full period for a few hours then only was spotting for 2 days so i took a pregnancy test has a faint line took a digital says not pregnant

  • I had a fiant positive(read in 3 min like directions said) yesterday, today i had a neg test (digital and ept) I am 13 dpo and my period is suppose to come today or tomorrow. well didn’t come today lol. i have pcos and we have been trying for a month i am just really nervous that i am and i am loosing the baby. any info or input????

  • So I took two tests at the same time. One didn’t test at all. No lines. The other had both lines but one was faint. This was within 10 minutes. What does this mean? I’m gonna get another test but I’d like to know and yes they were Both pink lines

  • Cheap Walmart ones are always bad evaps now! I got a pretty good pink evap line on one when I was 10 weeks pp and had already gotten a period before that. I freaked out and was bawling for days but I definitely wasn’t pregnant!

  • This is the 3rd month i havent had my period i took 2 tests, the first one was negative the second was i let sit for awhile and became positive.. Now im scared because you said when it sits its probably false now..

  • looks like evap lines. same happened to me and I was never pregnant if your taking them every few days the lines would get darker because the pregnancy hormone increases. so If theyre all looking about the same, i think there negative.
