Azoospermia is a condition where there is no sperm found in the ejaculate (or semen) after orgasm. Affecting about 1 in 100 of the general population—and up to 1 in 10 of men with fertility problems —azoospermia is an uncommon but severe form of male infertility. If you have been diagnosed with azoospermia, it means semen analysis tests found zero sperm in your semen. There are two types of azoospermia: Obstructive azoospermia (OA): Men with OA may produce a lot of sperm. A blockage in the reproductive tract, however, prevents sperm from entering the semen or being ejaculated.

Men who don’t have sperm in their semen have a condition called azoospermia. It happens to about 1% of all men and 15% of infertile men. There aren’t really any symptoms that you’d notice, but if.

The semen looks normal, and the diagnosis is made only when is it is examined under a microscope in the lab. Azoospermia, as the name suggests, refers to the condition in which there are no sperm in the semen. Azoospermia is the medical term for the situation in which no sperm appears in a man’s ejaculate.

This means that azoospermia is synonymous with a zero sperm count. Azoospermia is not, however, a clear cut problem with one cause and one treatment. Azoospermia – “No Sperm Count”. Five percent of infertile men have azoospermia, or an absence of sperm in the ejaculate.

But thanks to advanced medical treatments, men with azoospermia do not have to give up their hopes of conceiving a child. Depending on the type of azoospermia, it may be surgically treatable with a return of ejaculated sperm or it may require sperm retrieval and assisted reproduction. Azoospermia which is also known as Zero Count or No Sperm Count is one of the conditions that lead to male infertility where men cannot ejaculate sperms with other seminal fluids to make their partners pregnant. Suffering from this condition can stop any male. With azoospermia, the sperm is taken out of the equation.

You may have ejaculate, but it doesn’t contain sperm. You may be familiar with the term. Semen analysis is the only way to know if your sperm count is abnormal or zero.

If your first semen analysis comes back with zero sperm, your doctor will have you repeat the test a.
